No, that's just a bad review, agreed.

 

I have owned both so I know pretty well how they perform. GTX 970 running at 1500 MHz is quite (which I consider similar OC to GTX 780 running at 1,2 GHz) a bit faster than GTX 780 at 1200 MHz while being way cooler and quieter. GTX 970 is a nice sidegrade if you don't have to pay (I managed to sell my GTX 780 for decent price), the performance advantage is usually 15-17% assuming that both cards are overclocked to close to max.

 

Yeah, the 970 really comes to life when overclocked, hitting 1500mhz on the core is pretty standard and this is where these cards shine. At 1080p and 1440p, anything higher and the 780ti starts to stretch it's legs.

2500k at 4.5ghz should be little faster than 4690k stock, i think your good to go.

 

Yeah, I mean the cpu performance is nothing to worry about with current games, 4.5ghz on a Sandy i5 is still plenty, bar the odd exception. the gpu is fine too. I just want to play this game NOW!!!

EDIT: about the 970 @1500 vs stock 980, it obviously depends how high the stock 980 boosts to, some go higher at stock than others, my 970 boosts to 1342 out the box, which is a fair bit higher than the stock clocks. But yeah, they're great cards.

Ok so with the visual downgrade how do you guys think a 770 will handle the game?

I'm thinking of getting a 970 next week but maybe I should just hold off and wait for the 980Ti.

 

If my Radeon 5850 can't handle this game at 1440p on Ultra settings at a playable frame rate then I'm gonna be pissed!

I want the crappiest graphics on the best setting and I want it to be a smooth. I DO NOT want to spend $$$ on equipment upgrades to look at crappy graphics set to their highest setting.

 

Yes, it should handle it. They said 960 is capable at high no hairworks so its up there.

You should probably wait for 980ti or 390X.
