The first Broadwel based Intel Core i7-5775C has been spotted and overclocked. The Core i5-5675C and the Core i7-5775C should be out in stores real soon. Overclockers should be happy as the 14nm B...

just glad i would not need to get a new board :)
seems like intel is also going out of the motherboard business and only provide the chipsets to partners.

Man if it can reach 5ghz on air makes me wonder what the i7 chip can do with liquid cooling if it can reach 5ghz on liquid with a lower voltage or it can reach a tad over 5ghz like 5.1-5.2ghz.

Extreme voltage considering you should stay around 1.3v with this chips. Haswell can reach 5Ghz also at 1.4v+.

    The said the same for 4770k and 4790k and look how both do now...just saying ***9786;

Wait I thought K were the overclocking series, so is C replacing that now?

Exactly what Extreme said, some very lucky chips on Haswell arch. may reach 5G indeed however with extreme voltage and not for every day use.
Good thing seems the 14nm tech that will decrease temps at least.

Look again...18.8 C is on booting @ default speed. Mine (and I guess everyone's) starts at same temp as ambient, some seconds after will increase no matter what.

No temprature screen for 4.8 or 5.0 G on load @1.4v...

Dunno what effect that'd have on the long term stability of the zillophone, though.

Only for Broadwell, 'K' is back with Skylake.

would be nice if that can come up with a gold mine like sandy bridge again.

If it was really possible then why did they use 4.8ghz @ wprime then ;)

Very True. They did say the same thing about the 4770k and the 4790k.

True, my 2600K was doing perfectly fine at 4.2Ghz and I bought into the 4790K because I believed in the 5Ghz air cooling with the new TIM but Im slightly smarter this time around Intel

Interesting. I might use one for my second rig.

I think the lower OC's after Sandy Bridge had more to do with the significantly changed manufacturing process for the silicon, not the TIM.
I don't think it's fair to expect to be able to overclock everything 50%. While Intel surely want to produce a high quality chip with some OC potential, I don't think it would be good business to regularly put out chips like the unlocked Sandy's, or Q6600 GO's, or Celeron 300's...

I dont think there will be any ipc increase compered to haswell. Intel should've just skipped this and give us Skylake.

I'm not looking at screaming performance to be honest, more the new tech on motherboards, lower temps and power consumption. While it'll still be faster than my i7 950 those are the things I'm more interested in at present.
