I noticed that, probably cause of higher vram bandwidth and more texture units. EDIT: yeah, Max stable OC 1228mhz, ram 6260mhz (~301gb/s)
Bumped my 980 to my stable OC of +250/+500 If anything.. I think it shows this engine could still use some moderate optimizing. Not that it matters for us except for benchmarks as the game plays fine anyway.. Edit: Those 970 SLI benchmarks are very bad all things considering.. SLI 970s just barely beating a single 980?
Dosnt look that much CPU dependent, your 2600k should be capable maxing out that 980. Still strange that Tj's 780 is so close. He have a magical hardware all around, lol.
Yeah.. I don't know.. My CPU cores writing this are 0% / 0% / 0% / 0% so that takes out any background activity hampering benchmarks. Has to be optimization problems at the game level or driver level..
And what is the config for that benchmark graph anyway? It says "VHQ" which I assume is "Very High Quality" but.. What does that even mean?
Well they said its Ultra/4XMSAA. Btw if you take a look their GPU benchmark your 980 is right where it should be while Tj's 780 pushing only 71fps, hm... http://gamegpu.ru/racing-simulators-/-gonki/dirt-rally-test-gpu.html
Yep GK110 once OC'ed beyond 1100mhz+ really starts to show its muscle That benchmark used stock 780GTX @ 863mhz/boost 900mhz (real probably ~950mhz), I used boost 1150mhz when I got min 73fps and avg 90fps.
Remember I am running game at 1080p Ultra with 8XMSAA not 4XMSAA. Just did some overclocking to +200/+500 for 1528MHz core and 4001MHz (8002MHz effective) These results any better for you? 1080p Ultra 8XMSAA.................... never drops below 100fps
That is a nice SLI scaling. 970's seems to be alot faster than a single 980. Btw, anyone with 280X, 290/290X can run a benchmark? (I dont have the game) :/
Also the game just doesn't seem to need to push 2 GPU's or maybe the engine has some kind of max frame rate cap or something like that. Just look at these benchmarks that include SLI configs... 4K Their 970 SLI only got 40fps - 50fps (maybe they had AA enabled too which at 4K is NOT needed). 1080p
Agreed.. The SLI scaling is very poor.. Has to be a driver thing with performance or the game itself like you said just has a performance cap..
Idk, seems at 8XMSAA he is getting kinda a high fps with those 970's. Run same settings as him with a single 980 and we'll know the difference.
1080P 8X MSAA Ultra Preset I still say the SLI scaling is horrid... Edit: I'm blind. Bad day. Just saw his 8X MSAA results... SLI doesn't seem so bad.. He's snagging an extra 30FPS basically.. Seems about right
brb I'll try 8xmsaa @ max OC 1228mhz :nerd: EDIT: not bad Spoiler This is when I enhanced 8xMSAA with just MFAA, will try again 8xmsaa +mfaa nah MFAA seems to have a negative impact instead of boosting here xD mfaa + 8xmsaa both driver enhanced edit2: for lolz 4k dsr, noaa @ ultra
hehe thanks :nerd:, some will say that new maxwell compression isn't optimized for this game/ that benchmark (e.g. Vally, or Ryse of Son, Aliens), imo it can only get optimized to certain point then its bus starts limiting it. @ styckx what driver are you using? Im at 350.05.
Good to see my 780 rig will play this without any issue. Thanks for running all those benches -Tj-, my max OC is just a hair higher than yours so I know I should be good. I may pick this up this weekend.
Well was kinda bored and tested some more if there is any difference between 2133mhz with tight timings and 2400mhz with a little looser timings (higher bandwidth) and higher cache. Spoiler stock gpu by all; cache 42x, ram 2133 (9-11-10-27-1T, trfc 171) cache 42x, ram 2400 (10-12-12-35-1T, trfc 193) cache 44x and ram 2400 tight CL9 2133mhz seems to be ideal speed. Cache OC has a negative effect and its hotter too.. or I need to feed it more volts, 42x 1.147v (my usual) vs 44x 1.235v, but idk it already passed at 1.230v by other stuff last time I tested. Anyway its looking and driving great, also that intro menu song is really good can't wait for final version.
