Hi i have a question, i have a single Sapphire 6850 card, is there any point in me upgrading past 14.4/14.9 since all i see at the changelog are benefits for the R series i don't really see anything benefiting past cards like in the past...

I don't know what the hell anymore man. That Elite: Dangerous game runs beautifully until you supercruise in a busy section of space and then the games going literally 5 fps and my cpu is pegged at a whopping 30% usage with my GPU at like 1% and the clocks bouncing around to weird numbers like 450mhz/680mhz/935mhz (which is above my damn maximum setting)

I don't know whats going on with that game lol. I have it installed on a SSD, and that crap only happens in supercruise mode. As soon as you drop out everything goes back to normal and FPS is fine.

Try using RadeonPro, making a profile for Elite and set the Overdrive settings though it.

That kinda sounds like a CPU bottleneck.

He allready did that but he still has it while in supercruise in a busy section of space.

Yes, strongly recommend. It could possibly save you a headache or two you didn't even know you have because of not upgrading or one or two in the future.

Remember, drivers do not work in their own little world. They are part of a system.

5000 and 6000 series are still supported for a reason. You should upgrade.

Any examples? It has the same D3d as the Omegas, just different profiles.

Speak for yourself. No problems with sli.

Others do have problems with SLi. SLi also has a ton of frame fluctuations. So, in a sense, you see, you speak for yourself too.

While the rest are pure angel perfection. I've had an SLi system before. The one thing I can say about multigpu is never again.

So what sli cards did you have? I probably could of helped you out there. Been running nvidia sli for 10 years not including 3dfx sli.

I had a pair of GT8800's back in the day, and later a set of 560ti's. I also had for a brief time a pair of 6950's.

Most experiences where the same. Either games/engines would need optimization, or the drivers/profiles wouldn't work and you would either have to look for Catalyst profiles or arcane bits in NVIDIA inspector.

I have almost OCD with microstutter, low fps doesn't bother me that much, so multi-gpu is never again from me, unless there is a paradigm shift (that almost happened with Mantle, but I am wait and see for now).

Microstter was dealed with in the frame pacing part of the drivers, quite a bit of time ago. I had 8800gtx sli as well. sli was still in its infancy back then. Microstutter was dealt with kepler onwards. I had 580 sli as well, microstutter was much improved in fermi compared to older gen sli cards I had in the past. Judging my 10 years experience with sli with frametime graph with an 8 day game GTA V was not really the best counter to my no problems with sli. I cannot speak for xfire as I never ran it but I would probably expect more of the same.
