Off topic, but there is a bug in the rendering of AMD CHD shadows? There is always an invisible LOD whereby shadows around your character look detailed.

With CHD, any shadow out of that boundary will look somewhat pixelated.
It does not happen with softer/softest setting.

As I've not reach the required post count of 5 yet, I'm currently unable to show the images for comparison.

yes because pclab.pl is one of the biggest sites in Poland, and it negatively affects AMD brand. I cant say anything about the test because my game is still preloading from rockstar, but will check my results and compare them to theirs.

This drivers performs well in BF4 in both Mantle and DX11, no crash while playing or leaving the games. Played for 4 hours with no problems.

    It's true.
It performs bad and on top of that, it looks horrible.

The nVidia shadows performs a tad better and looks YEARS better.
But, I didn't like them. So, I choose Softer.

Not fixed. I think is because of winter update.
    No AMD fault.

    AMDMatt

Memory leak in BF4 is not fixed with mantle.

So no mantle for 2GB graphics card with frostbite 3 engine.

That's not a memory leak, Mantle just uses more video memory than DirectX at similar settings. In return for this extra memory subscription Mantle delivers a smoother and faster gaming experience. Experiment with lower Texture quality and MSAA settings until you stay within the 2GB video memory limit of your gpu.

    Or just use DirectX 11.

There seems to be an issue with MSAA in GTA V, disabling it resolves the flickering shadow/texture corruption.

We'll look into it and see if it's anything to do with our drivers or the game.

From my understanding, BF4's memory leak doesn't eat up your video memory but hogs your system memory to an unnecessary extent, am I correct? If the problem fixed, it doesn't mean 2GB cards will now be able to max out BF4 while using mantle.

Thanks for the memory leak clarification.

In DirectX 11 runs smoothly at 4k. :)

I feel lied to as I see no MKX profile....

Though maybe a windows 10 bug.
    Can anyone confirm?

pclabs.pl is a joke. They are well known across the internet for having Nvidia bias ever since AMD denied giving them free review cards. Their numbers look nothing like any other benchmark site on the internet because they pull them straight out of their arse.

Anyways. Another flawless set of drivers from AMD. ESO, LoL, WoT, all running fast and smooth.

Mine runs at 55~65 fps, 3200x1800, everything maxed out except MSAA that i set on 2x on this driver.

And the DSR option is enabled by default, not like the other post tha people have to download and run that cmd command.

On Benchmark it runs 28~82 fps but most of the time at 45fps.

I`ve not found any problem until now.

    @AMDMatt

Thanks for all the information and the update on the new beta driver!

I also have exactly this question:

So is it the bug where the CPU spikes randomly depending on which map etc...?
Because my VMEM is always @1.5G of 2G when using Mantle. But I get the spiking.

Pretty sure the driver isn't utilizing my r9 290x to its fullest in GTA V, the temp tops at only low 70's while the usual intensive gaming temp for me is at least 80.

Also, the gpu usage rarely exceeds 80% in the afterburner OSD.
Running maxed out setting at 1440p (both graphic and advanced tab) except
no MSAA and reflection MSAA at X2, and the fps dips into low 30's or even 29 while driving in the first person mode.

Already using DDU to install the new driver, could any 290(x) owner share your performance?

    Thank you guys!:)
