Nope. I got a backlog of 50 games and no time to play at all these days. 50% sale is where I start even looking at things. Also, my current job situation doesn't leave me with much unallocated monies to buy games and other stuff I might or might not want but definitely don't need.
tbh, I dont really enjoy gaming like i use to. I spend more time being frustrated by its stupid marketing models and broken games that its not really fun anymore. Playing with mods and settings via programs like Inspector use to be about getting better image quality/fps or in the case of mods, more content. Now it seems that inspector and mods are all about fixing games and in some cases a requirement.
Another problem is Early Acess and Greenlight games. Games that are even less finished, being sold with only promises of eventually becoming a finished product.
^ that too. I've got meself 980 as soon as it was available (still have to fully pay for it, that's the worst) and thought I'll be putting it to serious use... but after days of running benches and some AAA games, not even modded for maximum graphics, all the enthusiasm just poof and went somewhere else. Definitely isn't what it used to be, most new releases don't excite me much.
I only buy new releases when I really, really want to play them. For big titles, that rarely happens anymore. For specific titles (Assetto Corsa, MotoGP) I'll buy them at launch, but stuff like Call of Duty or Wolfenstein can wait until it's dirt cheap in a sale. Having so many games on sale every now and then definitely helped speed up this process: instead of buying one or two titles at full price, it's easy to rack up a backlog of ten titles for less money!
GTA5 was the first title, that I bought at full price, other than that I usually wait for games to be on sale and really cheap, since I don't play as much. Or at least I didn't 'til I upgraded to a 290, because my previous card couldn't run new games at a satisfying frame rate/image quality.
