Well... My guess is that with crossfire you have a second adapter that needs to have the same resolution unlocked in order to properly work with the adapter that has the VSR resolutions unlocked. Therefore my guess is that you have to enable VSR and Crossfire with the 15.2 driver, and then follow this method and see what happens.

Please don't give AMD this kind of ideas. :3eyes:

    Imagine the VSR "phased" future:

VSR Phase 2: Unlock the "imposible" 4K VSR res for 290(X)/295X2 and support for series 5000/6000/7000 through "hardware-less" method (aka some registry hex codes).

    VSR Phase 3: VSR....Crossfire profile. :D

Since you have Crossfire, have you given it a try?

I did my best but crossfire (in games) is still not working properly with modded drivers in my 290Xs.

I wonder how is working for jeckop on his 290s.

AFIK he is the only one who have crossfire working in games with modded drivers or reg mod.

I'm currently using the driver above (15.3 VSR Unlocked Full Driver Win 8.1) with crossfire 7950's and VSR (2560x1200, 16:10) and it's working properly.

Just had to leave Test mode signing permanently enabled, as discussed earlier. :)

If you don't want to use these drivers, using the latest 15.3 and use CRU to add the 2560x1600 resolution. That's what I did.

Thanks to report your success with crossfire gaming!

I tried with test mode always on without success but i will do it again with the recap modded driver link.

I will try it again when i arrive at home just in case.

Thanks, but I do want to keep them, as these are a newer build than the 15.3s. :)

Mine wasn't working with the driver on the front page when I first installed it, but it's working with the one on the link above.

I do have gpedit.msc > User Configuration > Administrative Templates > System > Driver Installation > Code Signing for Device Drivers > Set to "Enabled" and "Warn", but can't confirm if this applies or not for this case.

Other than that, just "bcdedit /set testsigning on" (ddisable_integrity_checks died with Vista x64 SP1 iirc).

    Thanks!

Now that i have an additional 5 TB disk i was able to test driver mods in 8.1 and 10 without problems in my stable system.

BTW...Do you know how to make VSR work in W 10?

Modded drivers were from W 10 but original or moddified one don't give me VSR in W 10.

FYI - I tried this on Windows 7 x64 and it didn't work for me. If I download it directly AMD, it would work.

Even when I applied the VSR registry settings, I don't get the new modes.

CCC does not work for me at all now. It installs but never launches, even when installing to another directory.

If anyone can recommend an alternate CCC tool, that would be great. I just need to set my video, overscan to 0 (did it via registry) and to full RGB mode. I still Radeon Pro to profile my games if performance is not good.

It may work for you on 7000 series with crossfire in games but for me it didn't work with my 290Xs.

I uninstalled AMD 15.3 beta then i run DDU from safe mode.

    I enabled test mode permanent.

Set gpedit.msc > User Configuration > Administrative Templates > System > Driver Installation > Code Signing for Device Drivers > Set to "Enabled" and "Warn".

This will only make a difference in the advice of non signed drivers but i did it anyway.

    Reboot in test mode.

I run 15.3 VSR Unlocked Full Driver Win 8.1 setup, the system advised about non signed drivers i accepted them and it installed without any problem.

When it finished it ask for reboot, i did.

Once again in test mode i enabled VSR and 4K VSR was avalaible.

I ran path of exhile and Dark souls II to test crossfire in fullscreen mode, even using the default 1920x1080 (no VSR) crosfire is broken with the right side flickering effect.

If i disable crossfire VSR is working included the extra 4K resolution.

This driver downclocks my HD 7950 while stressing with OCCT (while running at stock) to 501/1250 consistently after a certain period of time, and this behavior is consistent. I've clean installed 15.3 and didn't find this behavior, then reverted back to this driver and found the same behavior again. Checking with powertune set to +20% as we speak.

Edit: Finished checking out with the powertune set to +20% and no downclocking at all. These drivers seem to show some radical improvements when latencies are concerned, and I'm actually able to play ACU at Ultra settings with a bit of an overclock (1050/1250) without hiccups. Keep up the good work AMD!
