guppy if you're running 1080p I'm sure you'll be fine. If 1440p you still might be.

As soon as its confirmed I'm selling my 980.

Better get the water block on it this weekend for some tests.

Same as you Deathchild, QNIX 2710 2560x1440 at 100hz. Even with my overclocked 290x, I can barely run Dragon Age Inquisition at 40 fps with max settings. Certain areas make the fps better or worse, but the average is around 40. Mantle vs Directx is a different story.

    Very true.

Also very true. I can see this as a positive thing.

I don`t believe the ti or whatever its going to be called is going to be a full blown gm200, be nice if it did, unless yields were absolutley phenominal, more likely a slightly cut down version will be released around 2800 cores maybe?

In Elite Dangerous there's currently a scavenger hunt where people can win up to 5 Titan Black. So there's yet another card more or less announced.

Titan Black has been out for a while now.

Which brings up another thing, the Titan naming scheme sucks.

The Titan X does offer a nice performance boost over the GTX 980 and if the GTX 980 Ti, which is rumoured to be the same as the Titan X spec minus 6 GB of VRAM, is £550 or less then I don't think I could resist buying one even though I know I don't really need it for any games I am currently playing (The Witcher 3 though...who knows?).

I guess I could recoup some of the cost from selling my GTX 980. It's the 6 GB of VRAM that tempts me and that improved hardware spec with 50% extra memory bandwidth.

Honestly, I never gave reselling cards a thought. But if there will be a 980Ti, and it is a reasonable gimped Titan X, I might consider it. But only a little tad, since I'd have to sell them with the Waterblocks on :p

Probably not within two months, but certainly sometime this year.

    Q3 or holiday season :nerd:

Well, yields shouldn't be too bad, as it's still on 28nm, and I guess they've figured it out quite well after this time. The only question is, how does Nvidia want the card to compare to the TitanX, as well as the 980 of course, and the upcoming AMD stuff.

Yes and no, look at what happened when 780GTX came, 680GTX got a drop to 350-450€ while 780GTX sold for ~ 550-650€.

I have no doubt it will be the same now with GM204 vs GM200.

Those wondering what it will be like vs 2x970 or 2x 290x, look at titanx and add maybe add 5-15% boost on it and you have your answer :nerd:

Let's hope. The 980 GM204 at $400 would really be a stellar card it's not so tempting at the current $550 price point.

I can't help but noticing the GTX 970 info (ROPs, V-ram usable, etc.) on your table is still incorrect!

The rumor says the 980Ti carries the same amount of CUBA cores as the Titan X? I seriously doubt it. Some serious investigation into the gimping of the 980Ti must be carried out when it launches.:stewpid:

I would much rather have a custom 6gb full gm200 card versus a 12gb reference Titan. I can see a lot of people lining up for Classifieds, Lightnings ETC.

CUBA cores? Ha...that must explain why we're easing off of the embargo. :)

  17. The guys who paid $1000 for the Titan X don't deserved to get screwed over...

Oh what am I talking about?

    Of course they do.

Not sure, the wording in the competition is that the the winners get their real card as soon as it's released.

If the 390x is as fast or even faster than the Titan X, Nvidia might just be forced to react with something like the rumoured spec. If it isn't, then they might go with a more cut down version like you expect instead. That's the beauty of proper competition. You get better performing products at lower prices.

i really doubt this card will release 2 months after 390x. since its going to try and compete with that card. i think nothing will beat 390x until pascal is released. 390x will hold the performance crown after its released. rumor is 390x will be priced 700-800 dollar range so the 980ti will have to release near the same time and same price.

Really they could release it next month if they wanted. Its going to be the same thing as titan x with half the vram.
