Cool! It releases tomorrow here in the EU so after seeing the positive reviews I can still take advantage of the pre-order while feeling confident I won’t be burned.

Going by the screen shots from Eurogamers Performance Analysis, there visual (not art direction) are pretty shocking. The CA just makes the aliasing worse and texture, geometry, character models are all last gen level.

I see no reason as to why this isnt on the previous gen consoles, other than Sony.

As for gameplay, not really my cup of tea. Though im sure the Souls fans new and old will enjoy it.

Game seems to have trouble holding 30 fps in many areas which is disappointing, but not really surprising as all From Software games are pretty dodgy frame rate wise. There was some rumours knocking around on Twitch that a PC version maybe in the works, but it was probably someone trolling.

From what I gather the retail release has a 2gb patch to download, so that might sort out some of the issues that have been reported.

Demon's souls frame rate was bad as were the graphics but it still Is the best soul's game to date imo.

How does a game that looks like it belongs on a last gen system struggle to hold 30fps? :/

Given the dark and hellish theme the game has, it would be hard to make the game look better than it already is. Looks good on the streams I've watched, and those are compressed.

Its great that the game is a successful (so far it seems anyway) follow up to previous entries in the series, but the visuals dont bode well for a game that has been touted as being a system seller. Id rather spend my money on a ps3 (if i didnt have on already) and get the previous 3 games for much cheaper, all the while knowing that im not missing out much in the visuals department.

Not that im implying that a games visuals should be the basis for what makes a game a system seller, but the next gen honeymoon is over and so far Sony's got.... what Drive Club, Second Son, Killzone and now this game. If your into indies, then there's plenty to play, but if you're after a new console experience with games to match, things are pretty damn barren.

Be interesting to see what this day one patch does though.

It doesn't appear to fix much at all. The next patch does promise reduced loading times and other bug fixes.

Does anyone know if you can Co-Op from the beginning, or like the Souls games, you need to get to a certain point and have certain items?

It could be weeks before the patch is released. Why wasn't the game opimized before they released, not after?
