It is still not clear to me: What do I need to change in the text regarding the registry if my path is

    /REGISTRY/MACHINE/SYSTEM/ControlSet001/Control/Class/{4d36e968-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318}/0000

? I have tried all possible variances I could come up with, nothing worked so far :(

Matt is a liar. TheMac doesn't have the faintest idea what he's saying. There isn't some separate "Hardware Scaler" bolted onto the board. GPU always does the scaling. If not then it's done in software...it depends on the drivers.

I played dumb earlier and The Mac took the took the bait. I was sick of him trash talking other people while proclaiming intellectual superiority. And backing a lying AMD rep on top.

    Sorry but it's true.

    Thanks!

Do you mean the Windows 10 driver in Windows 10 or the modded Windows 10 driver in Windows 8.1?

I would like to also enjoy the full 4K VSR with my crossfire 290x. :)

"Regular" hardware VSR his limited to 3200x1800 on 290x GPUs.

So now i wonder: Is this full 4K VSR in 290x using the elusive "hardware scaler" or a new and undisclosed "N phase" software scaler?

you need this modded driver and testmode even on win 10 but then it works just fine.

Do you use it in Win 10 or 8.1?

Can you post a screenshot of your CCC with 4K and GPU-Z?

Is there any way to find out what these values actually do? In a hex editor they mean nothing (unless I'm doing something wrong).

If your Catalyst 2d Path is 4d36e968-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318, then you keep that, otherwise you change that value. About the other value I am pasting, you can find it through RadeonPro by clicking on the AMD logo on the bottom right, and copying the Registry Location path. Just paste it in Notepad so that you can see what needs replacing. You put that in place of the AE710DC2-D139-4C02-88CA-F2989EB5802A string in the registry file.
So if for example in your Catalyst the 2d path was 4d36e968-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318 and in RadeonPro the Registry Location was 795F388C-2ED0-4291-A9B8-F1ECC0D6D5DA, the file should look like this:
    Code:
    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Video\{795F388C-2ED0-4291-A9B8-F1ECC0D6D5DA}\0000\DAL2_DATA__2_0\DisplayPath_7\Option]

    See the explanation above.

Using the method I posted, it works just fine with the 15.3.1 driver too :)

    Hi guys ,
I have mobility HD 8850m gpu + intel 4400 and I tried this driver on my dell inspiron 3537 win 8.1 64 bit. I am getting BSOD's after installing this driver. I am currently on 15.3.1 beta drivers which seems to be stable for me. Any idea :bang: Is this driver only for desktop gpus or its not supported for amd+intel combo ?

PSA It has been said before this is not our sandbox...if you want to play here you have to show respect to others including AMDMatt.

In this regards though I am not exactly happy with AMD in this matter, I do understand his position and how corporations work. With that said he is very limited to things he can and cannot say. Personally I am happy to have a direct line to AMD where our issues get passed on.

In the registry hex values are reversed for some reason. So 74,69,6f,6e is actually 6e,6f,69,74.

I completely agree with that. The ridiculous corporate position about things, is different than the helpful person. We don't need to be d*cks to him about that.

I had no idea. I'll try to figure out something a bit later today then.

Can you tell me how to modify the default 15.2 drivers for VSR, because my bandwidth is too low to download these?

Are you one of Matts sock puppets?

Respect is earned not given, and if someone is a liar, then they will be called a liar. I don't care what u think. Your job is no excuse.

Thank you for your time and effort. However, I just cant get it to work... Your instructions where really clear but still, i can not get a higher resolution than my native one to show. Thanks anyway, I guess I will just wait for an official solution from AMD, as i think they will at this later in their drivers.

Wonder if there is way to make custom eyefinity resolutions this way as well?
Im really starting to give up hope on that if I cant get EDID altering to work.
I just wanna run 1280x1050 on my 1280x1024 side monitors to match the height of 1680x1050 monitor.
