Yes, system runs fine all games run smooth , I may try the MSI on vid when next driver i update to .

The only thing I see with mouse is in BF4 sometimes when I first enter map my right click button (maybe both buttons ) doesn't respond for a sec or two , but since position works , I think its just game .

 

So after using the utility with all of my 14 devices selected, the following made it into MSI mode:

GTX 260 (yeah I know)
LAN Controller (already in MSI mode)
3 "PCI standard PCI-to-PCI bridge"

My AMD SB950 SATA controller didn't make it, nor did my Realtek audio chip, along with PCI to USB controller or my standard OpenHVD USB controller.

 

Are you sure you have installed AMD SATA drivers?

Mmm... not those ones. I have an older WD1001FALS circa 2009 and I get stalled Windows 8.1 loading if I use AMD SATA drivers. I had to mod the ASUS' provided AMD SATA driver for the Rev.2 Sabertooth (mine is Rev.1) for Windows 8.1 to load using AMD SATA driver - see here:

I will try the one you linked to, as ASUS' are from early 2012. Most of the other newer ones stall my Windows loading even when modded.

Also, it still wouldn't go into MSI mode when using Windows' default SATA driver.

UPDATE: Thanks for the link. The AHCI driver works great. No modding needed. But it still doesn't go into MSI mode. I'm thinking it's an SB950 issue as the USB controller and mobo Audio run off it too and they also don't go into MSI mode. The PCIe stuff does go into MSI mode though...

UPDATE 2: I was just reading though AMD's SB950 Errata and sure enough MSI mode has been disabled to avoid a possible issue with 3+ SATA devices on the controller, using MSI, causing a crash... I could roll back my BIOS to some earlier state... but I don't really care that much... maybe if I get bored later on... :3eyes:

 

No big deal. Especially if computer works without stutters.

 

I giving this a trying with my gpu in msi mode just so it not sharing a irq with usb hubs didnt see much diffrence last time i did this but i gona leave like this till for while.

IT dont fix the stuttering in swtor that for sure though. it possible what ever stuttering i have is simple do to the ram i have and it speed seeing that that thing people think of that cause it. and i cant change ram with having the ram magically start going missing so. i stuck with what i got till i rebuild my rig

 

Only one or two gurus reduced (audio) stuttering by switching devices to MSI mode. And I made my work rig (with very weak performance) little snappier. Back then IRQ sharing was hard cause for troubles. Now Windows rules that stuff pretty well.

Where all using the same port as the gpu irq 16, Which always bother me but honestly i never really saw issue with them all being on it, and i resolved my audio poping long ago.

Only certain nvidia drivers bring that issue back, which usual only happens when the nvidia drivers have terrible latency issue.

I just not fan of have to redo it every time i re installed drivers, Wish there was way to for the OS to keep the gpu on it own irq automatically

Only thing running msi mode. I guess alternative if it bother me enough i can force the Intel stuff i mention at beginning of post to msi mode and if that work i dont have to worry about the gpu being on shared irq

the above was all on 16 like the gpu they all switched to msi except "Intel (R) ICH10 Family USB Universal host controller" which remained on irq 16

So i can only keep the gpu off irq 16 by swithcing every time i install drivers

Yes, only USB3 controllers switched to MSI mode.

 

Updated SATA AHCI drivers for Windows actually put SATA into MSI mode. Prior to updating when I tried to manually change that, I blue screened like mentioned earlier in the thread. I set my NVIDIA GTX 770 to MSISupported, but noticed my DPC Latency was the same, but often spiked to 120-150. Is this normal? :banana:

In which program do you check DPC latencies? 150 microseconds or milliseconds?

 

It Windows 10. On 7-8.1 whenever I tried to force msi for sata the OS wouldn't load. But on 10 Sata comes with msi by default, like the amd drivers.

 

DPC Latency Checker. Also, Windows 7 Ultimate. I then updated my SATA AHCI drivers for the first time, and those drivers automatically set it to MSISupported '1'.

 

Yes, I was going to post same thing, I am running 12.9 and new Intel SATA are in MSI config IRQ (-xx).

 

LatencyMon.exe is much more interesting and reliable tool for DPC latencies measure.

 

LatencyMon always shows insane spikes for hard pagefaults by the NVIDIA Drivers, but DPC Latency Checker says everything is fine :3eyes:
