Uses Unity engine (4.5.x) but it works pretty well with the simplistic art style, looks pretty unique too.

Not much happening in the game early on so things are pretty calm at the moment however it seems seasons might play a important role and finding enough food (rabbit massacre. :p ) could be tricky during winter periods, guess later on other gameplay elements might be introduced as well.

As a Unity engine GeDoSaTo isn't fully compatible so downsampling can be tricky, I've only gotten it to work correctly on older Unity engine games and from what I've read Nvidia DSR and AMD VSR also have issues with the way this engine works.

(SMAA and post-processing works just fine though which is good enough for me.)

The new DLC for Evil Within looks good, however I'll probably wait until the second half is out before starting it.

Why do you think so? Because screen isn't very sharp and the colors / lighting isn't very bright?

Because the vegitation / colors looks cartoonish, and way worse than Vanilla ultra, especially the palms

Also the blur - looks like you are in severe need of glasses.

It's kind of obvious he has a few mods installed.
Textures on the rocks are completely different, the lighting and color vibrancy is different.

Not sure how you could look at that and think it was Low settings.
Yes, it looks a lot different then the default vanilla settings, but it doesn't look anything like the game does at even Medium settings, let alone Low.

Hah, well it uses the engine from Assassin's Creed III and AC IV: Black Flag although unlike Black Flag this game does not use any of the Nvidia enhancements.

Meaning no enhanced sun beams ("god-rays") and no HBAO+ (Regular HBAO is available but it seems it might not be working correctly.) and there's also no TXAA support, no MSAA support either so it's FXAA or nothing (Or SMAA via ReShade / SweetFx.) so it doesn't look quite as good as Black Flag did on PC.

Game is also made for the X360 and PS3 originally and though the PC version does have improved LOD and draw distance it's still very short though in return this and the lack of the above features does mean the game runs at near 60 FPS constantly on my system and probably even better than that on Nvidia GPU's :)

Would have been nice if Ubisoft had ported it over to the AC V: Unity engine but I'm pretty sure it would have been a lot of work to re-add the ship mechanics and other stuff plus the visuals in Unity might not work that well in a completely open world environment, plus it wouldn't be profitable enough for only a PC release.
(The city locations in Unity use pretty aggressive LOD scaling and probably also uses culling heavily to only render what it needs to in order to improve the framerate but it's still pretty demanding with it's global illumination effect and other improvements.)

Going to be interesting to see what Ubisoft can do with this new engine when Assassin's Creed VI: Victory is released near the end of the year. :D
(Additional performance optimizations via DX12 would be nice even if it's perhaps only some 15% faster or so but it's still something.)

Story wise though I do like Rogue so far although it's not a very long story as there's only six chapters instead of the usual 11 - 12 but in addition to that there's a lot of optional content to explore plus the usual activities and collectibles hunting.
(Very varied environments as well, really like the north Atlantic ocean with it's ice effects although Ubisoft skipped the diving activities for this game though I suppose diving in freezing water wouldn't be very healthy.)

EDIT: No screenshots at the moment though I might grab a few from Ori, finished Far Cry 4's "Valley of the Yeti" DLC and the game was then uninstalled as I am pretty certain that was the last bit of new content for the game. (Saving up a bit of disk space for April and May's game releases, heh.)
