I heard some rumors that there are nanobots included in this driver which fix the memory in 970. But I do not know if it is true, so perhaps someone with 970 would be so kind and test it?

This driver adds security updates for the driver components nvlddmkm.sys and nv4_mini.sys.

Sorry, no possible fix slow memory speed due to the "bad" hardware of GTX 970 but you may buy GTX 780Ti or GTX 980. ;)

There is no fix but the heuristics system they are using to determine what memory pieces get mapped to the slow partition can be improved via drivers, which should fix performance issues -- it's not like everything that gets stored in GPU memory is accessed all the time or needs to be accessed quickly.

It actually makes more sense to swap to system memory. That 500mb portion is useless.

Why does that make more sense? They are effectively using it as a cache and it's faster and has lower latency then system ram.

Yes, its cache, but some systems have fast memory. And going forward it will only get faster. The 970 wont.

Anyway im glad this driver uses the dying light profile from catzilla that we had access to before.

From what I understand, when the 500mb area is tested it performs around the same speed at typical system ram. Because, for whatever reason, it's already using RAM as swap at that point.
As others have put it, it is essentially a 3.5GB card. It honestly makes more sense to simply update drivers to make it 3.5GB (if that can be done in the driver), most games do that any way. Games that are fooled into thinking it's a proper 4GB card are the ones that have issues.

Actually goes like this. uses 3.5GB partition first, then if it needs more the driver will swap to 500mb partion, and it uses this intelligently. Last if it needs more then 4 gb then it will swap to system ram. By the way the 500mb partion is much faster then system ram becasue its on board the card. having to go thru the pcie bus and to system memroy is much slower.

Ah no black screen on sli change - nice that was really annoying.

Any word on if these support dsr in sli with gsync monitors?

Bad hardware? Dont come here to just start this crap all over again. That SLOW memory (500) is just as fast as your system ram..

Anyway I really like these new drivers. Never had any problems with my card yet I can tell the difference in a few games.
