What are the 970/980 owners trying to accomplish touting Nvidia in these threads.
Are you trying to get people to buy Nvidia because you bought Nvidia.
You trying to make yourself feel that your Nvidia purchase was the best decision you made in your life.

Yeah, perhaps this threat ought to be locked...
Too much faeces slinging going on.

History has shown us that both companies are guilty of lying and manipulating.
Thus shall they ever continue to do so.

Those who are upset, switch model or brands or live with it.
The rest isn't affected thus shouldn't get all upset about it.

This is fan boy bait guys, you know you're better than that.

How is that a troll comment? He's asking a pretty valid question.

People who bought GTX970's and are happy should not be using this thread to justify their purchase or bash AMD.

On the same token, those who bought GTX970 and want to trade it for an AMD card, should not be using this thread to bash NVidia.

People that are unaffected by this whole fiasco, shouldn't be using this thread to bash either AMD nor NVidia. This thread should also not be getting used to try to sell products from your favorite chip vendor.... Only shills do that anyway....

People who bought based on the specs, have a right to feel cheated. They have a right to a refund as well so long as they're within the specified terms for receiving such. I don't see what the problem with that line of thinking is.....

Yeah, it's pathetic but it happens not only with Nvidia. I guess they feel more confident about their purchase or satisfy their hate towards other companies, in this case it being AMD.

If you're not trolling and serious, I'd advise you to try and downclock the card. That is, if the generated heat really bothers you that much.

Yes, because there's nothing else to do on this thread besides bashing, right? That's an even better logic.

It is his 1st post. Our forums are under attack of people like that.
If he has high temperature on non reference, he thinks 70°C is high.
Or he is high. Or he bumped heatsink and now thermal compound does not have proper contact.
In any way, anyone with r9-290(x) reference has been warned by reviews about temperature.
And any other card with same power consumption generates as much heat. Final load temperature is given by cooling capacity versus energy loss.

Well that's what you get if you're too biased to one gpu maker..

I've seen it a lot lately, die hard nvidia fans will always bash AMD (the fixer for example, those nv fans somehow really got butt hurt by it) and vice-versa.:infinity:

I own nvidia gpu but I never really went this far to defend nvidia, I saw their dirty tricks too many times (usually I called them out if they go too far), so I try to stay biased and always on the lookout what competitor has to offer.

They can sell it cheap, but the power consumption is still high when we look at GTX970/980-s... And as we all know new GTA5 is gonna be nvidia partnered so i dont think anyone gonna take a risk with AMD.
