they should rate the power to the ground (BHP) this way ppl will know how much power there is at the wheels

Isn't this like, the first time nVidia has screwed up something?

I didn't say that the engineer or someone else on the tech side should have spoken with the public, what they should have done is addressing this to public affairs where the community managers and PR would have spoken up about it.

But all that is to late now anyway.

Um....serious. I mean, I know they're a bunch of scumbags when it comes to proprietary solutions and business tactics, but I honestly don't remember any technical screw up or "lying" like this.

    Hi, everybody.
I did Nai´s benchmark on my Asus GTX980 4GB (reference model, no OC) and I noticed that my L2-cache-bandwidth is only 470 Gbyte/s through the whole test.
I´ve seen several GTX980s benchmarked and their L2-cache-bandwidth varied from 465 Gbyte/s to 554 Gbyte/s. Can someone explain this variation to me, please? Is my card OK? Thank you.
    DRAM-bandwidth is solid 178 Gbyte/s, btw...

It's the one's who bought 2x 970s I feel sorry for. Their cards are going to be irrelevant much sooner than they thought.

The price of early adoption I suppose.

That is not really L2 Cache bandwidth, that is GFLOPS. People overclocking their card got more results. You would see a good 780TI do 575GB/s+

That is the thing, the 970 will try not to even use over 3.5G because of the adverse effect.

    Playable frame rates.

Something is basically telling the 970 that if bus usage becomes to high to limit VRAM usage to 3.5G. One has to ask if this is done at BIOS level or Driver level.

970 is a good card, I like talking about this from a technical point, this bothers you somehow.

Nothing bothers me tbh, I'm enjoying it immensely. I was just saying that the video you posted, how do we even know he is in fact running a 970 vs 980?

You thought you had a 4gb card, you now know you have a 3.5gb card (well 2x 3.5gb cards).

With the way vram usage in games is going, are you going to run into problems sooner than you thought or later?

    Genuine question

so by that statement I take it all the 780's and 780ti will be screwed to, they only have 3 gig ? also what about the gods know how many owners of 2 gig cards ? that are still sold to day btw, omg what will we all do ?? .. come on mate get a grip!

the logic is beyond belief (ever seen the settings in your games ? they there for a reason)

and your WRONG the gtx970 is a 4 gig card fact like it or not lol how it uses it's ram does not bother me, it's how it plays games. that's what I like to use them for and in fact do, with out issues or whining like a spanked child.
