On an Asian website forum called PCEVA a member by the name of RoyalK posted specs and performance numbers of the GeForce GTX 960. The GM206-300 based graphics card seems to get 1024 Shader processors...

I could care less about 3d mark scores. Yawn.

    I care about gaming numbers.
Since one of my HD 7950 died, I may sell my current one to a friend who has a HD 5770,and get me a gtx 960. Im also moving from 3x monitors 4640x1024 res and going to 1 21:9 monitor at gtx 950. Gettings tired of one of my cards dying and being stuck with one at too high of a res.

Ya slow or something? 3dmark shows universal performance, which gives you a pretty clear Picture of how it will perform in games compared to other gpu's...

And youre considering going from a 3gb gpu to a 2gb ? That sounds smart...

By looking at scores its slower than 770.

At 200$ could be a great performer but cant get rid of the feeling that 128bit card isnt a good choice for gaming in 2015.

128 bus? WTF, this card will choke in *ANY* game at 1080p if AA is applied.

Yeah, slightly slower than a 770... imo it should NOT be priced at 200 usd... the 280x would still be faster, have a MUCH wider bus, have more vram, AND be cheaper...

Imo only stupid people would buy the 960 if these specs are true. Nvidia could at the very least have given it a 192 bit bus and 3gb vram...

Indeed. I would take 280X or 770 over this anytime and they can be found for 200$ as well.

Anyway, there must be plans for 960ti, there is a still huge gap between 960 and 970.

Yeah, if we assume the scores are true, then the 960 is at 6600 and the 970 at 9500... thats a massive difference.

I just cant see how they can justify the 200 dollar Price...

might not beat the GTX 770 but a 128bit bus gettin close to the 770's 256bit just shows maxwell's better and more efficient memory compression, its probably the job of the 960Ti/965 if it shows up to go beyond the 770

With half of everything it will half the performance of the 980, so really looking at the performance of maybe a GTX 670

I was looking at this card as an upgrade maybe as the 760 is getting on a bit now... might just wait for GTX10 or whatever Nvidia decide to call the next series.... not enough performance jump to warrant an upgrade just yet.

Unless they do a 960Ti that's a good step and a half better then this one you may want to stick with your current 760 Grim_2o0o. Of course this article is rumor, hearsay and leaks that may or may not be fabricated at this point. :p

Too much of a difference from a 960 to 970 not to have a 960ti, 4gb 256bit cut down shaders from a 970 is my prediction. Nvidia already has the high end covered, time for some mid range stuff. They got the market pretty saturated now and when new amd comes in gm200 will be out.

guys this card is not meant for us. Its meant for low end entry level gamers who want to use their GPU to help improve rendering tasks like video editing, photo editing etc.

Sure the price is a little steep I can not defend that, but this card would be excellent in a small rig that is used for light gaming and it would still rip through the popular titles like League Of Legends, WoW, The Sims, and even majority of the free to play games too.

960 is going to be more mid range, 750, 750ti with less shaders is at the lower end spectrum.

Unless it's sporting ridiculously high clocks, which I'm not seeing.

That´s the problem, x600 cards have been "real" gaming cards, now this doesn´t even have enough vram*

*Unless you like AC Unity 1995 style low textures

Honestly if true I expected more from Nvidia after the 660 and 660ti, which were downright "amazing" mid-range cards.

Heck, my old 660ti can still take pretty much any game i throw at it.

    Some of those as well
The 860m has a 128 bit bus and performs well at 1080p with 4xaa in quite a few games. Additionally, RAM usage tends to be just over 1GB at these settings.

Looks like a really disappointing card, and overpriced. WTF?!
