Even though I DETEST using a gamepad. Here is my setup on Elite that I think is great: Y-axis l-stick = pitch (inverted) X-axis l-stick = roll Y-axis r-stick = throttle axis r-stick button = 0% speed R-bumper = fire primary R-trigger = thrust up L-trigger = thrust down dpad-up = front menu dpad-left = left menu dpad-right = right menu LB+dpad = menu navigation LB+R-trigger = Next tab right LB+L-trigger = Next tab left X-axis l-stick = thrust Y button = target X button = landing gear A button = flight assist disable (hold) B button = boost LB+B button = frameshift drive back button = hardpoints LB+RB = secondary fire disable all deadzones There ya go!!!
He updated his pics and even though everyone is saying it doesn't look like a downgrade it definitely looks like a downgrade to me. There is far less detail and far fewer good curves in the retail shots. Texture quality looks significantly lower in retail. I hope he just messed something up in the settings and still has the option to get to beta quality settings.
IMO the game looks stunning and it packs a lot of atmosphere. Holy s... thats a massive downgrade. It just makes everything seem to flat and bland. Now it looks like a flat hud just pasted onto the screen. The visual aspect is what drew me in more than the 'jobs and favors simulator' in space aspect. PC masterace huh. Whats the point of PC exclusives if they're not even going to use the PC to its maximum ability. This could run on consoles at this rate.

Imagine what will be in the game from 6 months from now. Its the content that is really going to propel this game. Also keep you eye on the news feeds from Galnet on original forum to do with war in the galaxy. Acting on it could make you rich or get your killed and lose everything.
exactly, even in beta it looked amazing and performed fantastic for me. The textures will have the least hit on performance. I appears it is a new texture or it been compressed or detail maps removed. And sadly I have maximum settings. Its stupid that they changed the textures. The ship should be the highest quality they can make since that is 99 percent of what you are looking at.0 Im a texture artist so this bothered me especially as I know it is a stupid change. if you showed someone the pics not labeled the beta would be identified as the retail. I saw the beta in motion and it was breathtaking. At that time, one of the best looking games ive ever seen.
They were thinking about console for the future weren't they? Once they get more of the planned content into the game I would imagine it is something they would think about.
Well Elite wouldn't be Elite without Thargoids in it now would it This is one title that'll sell big time imo, I ditched Eve online after playing that for a few years as it just wasn't for me, Elite Dangerous is the space sim I've been waiting for.
