I just hope this will make the game playable... I went back to AC:Unity yesterday after taking a break from DA:I, and was baffled that it still has issues. Poor SLI scaling, poor GPU usage, and the stuttering... it's still there! I have no ideea why it is happening, there seems to be no ram/vram leak, it's simply weird and makes the game unplayable when you're in the middle of an action sequence.

GTX 970 SLI shouldn't have issues with this game. I have G1 GTX 970 SLI and I can easily sustain 60 FPS in AC Unity at 1440p maxed settings, so you should be getting similar.

Are you on Windows 7 or Windows 8.1?

same, played the game with a single 970, everything maxed and 2x AA, FPS were in the range of 40-60fps (which specially for gamepad is more than enough).

There was only a sttutery place which was that church the was shown in a video, also sttuters on PC :p. The game itself its nothing special tho...

he may try to disable HT, the game is quite CPU hungry and if HT is going bad...

I was building a new PC last week, installed a brand new win 8.1 (8.1 not 8) and there were 1,7Gb of updates waiting for me :)
BF4 updates and new maps are also impressive in size :)
That is the way it goes nowadays, and fast Internet connection is a good thing.

As usual, another AAA game shoved out the door before it was properly tested/finished, all done to grab the almighty $$$$$ during the holiday season. A 6.7GB PATCH . . . . . is a complete joke.

If it's available in your area, and you can afford one.

I think the idea that you can replace portions of a game map after it's been released now is pretty cool.

Wouldn't expect wonders from this though.

  10. Don't worry guys, our future games won't release as a broken mess. We're taking utmost care in ensuring they will be stable and bug free, so that our customers will enjoy the cinematic 30fps graphics.

Oh and the PC versions don't run very well because the realistic graphics is very demanding on the hardware. You experience will be better if you buy a super high end processor and *coughNvidiacough* graphics card. Meanwhile the consoles are capable of running at roughly the same visual quality without performance issues.

In the meantime please do check out the 101 trailers we have for our upcoming title, and help us hype it to the moon. It is available for preorder now. You get exclusive stuffs only if you preorder. Oh yes you should preorder the day 1 DLC as well. Got to have them all yes?

I moved on from Windows 7 ever since BF4 came out, I don't know what's wrong with AC:Unity. I too am at 1440p maxed with TXAA iirc, both cards are at a stable 1554/7908 MHz OC, but I can't keep 60 FPS, and it's not that bad that it drops in 40s 50s, but when it does it stutters, with no reason. There are several videos on the net with exactly my problem. I'm using the latest WHQL drivers, maybe I'll have to use some newer ones?

I hope it helps. Game runs like crap for me. 30 - 50 fps. Lots of stutter.

What do they expect people who still have to rely on hard copies due to broadband speed / reliability?

As the patch is basically about the same size as the original game, it would be nice to think Ubisoft would offer to mail a new patched disk upon request.

I bet it's because you're using TXAA. TXAA is broken in this game (the patch may fix it though), and because the AC Unity engine uses deferred rendering, using TXAA or MSAA results in a very large performance hit.

I highly recommend using FXAA instead. It gets rid of 98% of the jaggies and has practically no performance hit.
