Assassin's Creed Unity

I started this today with my 2x 680 ftw 4gb as my new cards are here tomorrow. Been putting it off but thought I would try it on my old cards ans to my surprise the game is running smooth all at ultra settings with FXAA.
I was expecting to get a slide show but yet to see under 70fps in paris. I have HT disabled and also running the timer tool which may make a difference.

 

Yeah, the game is more vram hungry, than gpu power hungry (like most recent games).

But what resolution are you running the game in ?

 

Only 1080 but I've seen people running at this res having all sorts of problems so I have been pleasantly surprised.

 

Everyone with a R9 280X/HD 7970, get the new catalyst omega driver, it sure as hell improved AC Unity for me, from 22 fps it went straight up to 45 for some reason, that's over 50% improvement

The game runs surprisingly well on my PC, 50-60fps now with PCSS disabled and FXAA.
Ultra environment and ultra textures.

Waiting for the tessellation patch to see how my 970 fares.

 

ye, i don't know about the talk of the 8 second freezes. Sounds like something else is going on there. Game runs fine, occasional dips down to 60 fps but generally run ~70 or so, max settings but probably skimped a bit on AA because I always go light on AA.

 

Just loving that, "only" , TBH 1080p vs 1200p in my eyes is quite good difference( I have 16:10 monitor) , overall playing above 1080p (at 1200 or 1440 for example ) is so much better experience.

Really nice boost indeed. I was amazed when i saw 40fps on a single 280X. Great drivers.

 

So Ubisoft were right when they said that AMD drivers are to blame for low fps...well I`m glad that for once that Ubisoft was right.

 

Not for everyone such a boost, even almost same cards! Friend=same fps, so...

Im getting 10+ FPS with those as well, cheers.

Patch 4 Coming December 15

We expect that Patch 4 will be released next week on Monday, December 15 across all platforms. This patch will address issues with stability and performance as well as online matchmaking and connectivity (among other fixes and improvements).



For optimal performance before and after the patch, PC players using AMD video cards should be sure to install the latest drivers.

This game is 19quid on PC on tesco direct physical media UH!!! use those vouchers you have saved up lads and get the game for almost nothing lol

 

I'm sorry but if this game is not updated to normal standards with Full tessellation for both AmDTI and Nvidasellout the game is over and passed for the most part.

 

I suggest you stop playing games if you require tessellation in order for them to be enjoyable.

 

Obviously tesselation can improve Visuals quite a bit, if used on all suitable surfaces... but even without it, i truely do think, that its the best looking game that ive played Thus far

just saying

played last night [too busy at work ,had not played in a week] and had the 8 second freezes in a few places .

watched the cpu load with core temps on the g15 lcd and found I had 3 cores at 100%,1 at 89% with HT turned off.
gpu's @ 75-80% [boost 1200ish mhz]
I did add a second 840 pro for R0 last weekend so I turned ht off for some reason.

turned HT back on , the cores then dropped to 40-60%
only did a short test but no freezes on my system with 8 threads [@ 4.6]
so for my system/settings only 4 cores can cause the freeze [op has 4 cores 3570]
will test more tonight.
