It's been like that for awhile. Why? Because AMD are dumbasses who do everything sloppily. Hell, look at the guy running their GPU division ( http://youtu.be/gClxboaqVek ), he has all the class and professionalism of a used car salesman.

I don't get why they bragging about Omega. It's nothing special. It's just another driver for 90% of people.
The install process and artwork are identical, the entire process is the same, CCC is identical. I thought they reworked the entire thing.

Good, when we can see your professional version of presentation?

I am sorry for those 90% of people who want new installation method, more artwork different installation procedure every time and entire CCC reorganized from driver to driver.

But I had no clue that 90% of users out there are so adventurous PC users who desire to explore everything anew with every driver.

But you are right it is just another driver which comes with some smoothness improvement and new VSR feature which is not for everyone.

    And I forgot those fixes...

Nvidia extended their support to the 6xx series too. It's basically a software trick, the limitations you see are more or less marketing.

So far it seems like the black screen freezes are gone. I hope it really is fixed. It's the only thing I care about.

Why? Mantle has performed better and without problems, on an R9 280X and then an R9 290, for me since the past few drivers.

I suspect they are currently using the hardware video scaler, which was reported to be updated to a newer version with GCN 1.2.

after some additional testing found out that this stuttering was caused by AMD SATA (AHCI) driver.
removed it from system and now using 14.12 WHQL video driver again.
everything is smooth and fps in BF4 DX11 is better then it was with 14.11beta2 =)

BF4 MANTLE is unplayable (stuttering, fps-drops, crashes) with videocards that have 2 Gb (and less) of videoRAM.

I don't get the VSR option. Is there some kind of requirement I'm missing?

If it was for that, only the R9 285 would have it, as it is the only GCN 1.2 product.

Blah, no VSR support with 1600p monitors...
No PLP support with my 2x290X setup but 285 gets it (maybe), if it works.

Black screens: haven't seen one yet so hopefully at least that one is fixed for good (knocks on the wood).

At least it installed without hiccups.

So AMDMatt: are you going to support more resolutions with VSR, and is there a reason why mixed rotation eyefinity is only supported by 285 series? New display controller on those cards?

My 20|30|20 PLP monitor setup wants that rotated eyefinity support now, been waiting for that feature since eyefinity was first introduced
