Thanks for the article! Just out of curiosity, why not making a comparison between 14.11 and Omega? There's probably been optimizations in every driver since 13.12.

    Here you go:
I highlighted the thing about Far Cry 4, that's quite a big jump over 14.9.

Mentioned this in the AMD driver topic but I'll post it here as well.

Not sure if it means anything but the Guru3D driver and the AMD website driver download seem to differ.

    From the Guru3D download.

    From AMD

That's important, as the Catalyst Control Centre version in the AMD website driver is:
    2014.1120.2123.38423

We have a combined RC Windows 32/64 build compatible with Win 7 and 8 whereas AMD offers them in separate packages. The driver is the same. Feel free to seek any differences otherwise.

Our build was provided by AMD and is the build used in the article.

I'm sorry for the triple posting of this, but there are so many different threads about the catalyst driver!

    I did a check.

The AMD driver and the driver on Guru3D are NOT the same!

Driver files are NOT bit identical, many are even different files sizes. Even the AVT app isn't bit identical.

For the comparison I expanded and extracted the files, I did not compare the AVT .msi file or the files as .DL_ or .SY_ etc, I compared the actual files properly :).

Some files have small difference, but things like atikmdag.sys have quite big differences.

Also, the OpenGL driver has an OLDER version in the Guru3D driver, confirmed. It wasn't just one or two files that were different, it's quite a significant number of the files.

And the HDMI-DVI chroma subsampling bug still exists in this driver. I already filled in the bug report on it in September, gave them a VERY detailed reproduceable bug report in November and this bug is still here. Now I need to back to 14.4 again with my R9 290X.

Shameful that I can't with their fastest single-GPU card select 3840x2160 as a VSR resolution, I apparently need to downgrade to the R9 285 for that.

Please AMD, stop forcing me to hate you. Please try to do something that doesn't make me regret an AMD card.

EDIT: back on 14.4, sharp text and correct colors once again.

In the next hour the files will be synced to the latest build.

Thanks :). I would have thought the drivers would have been the same too, I guess they made some last minute changes to it?

All builds are now downloadable. Some people have reported that the RC version on Guru3D did install for them, while the AMD driver download does not.

Anyway, the download page has been updated with all builds.

whats the difference between the "Download Windows 7 and 8.1 32 & 64-bit (Release Candidate)" and the "Download Windows Vista/7/8/8.1 32 and 64 bit AMD Chipset Drivers 14.12" ?
Which one is identical to AMD download site?

No VSR support for 1680x1050, shame. :(

Perhaps this new driver will smooth out the video play back (bad video stutter) on my AMD A6-5400K APU that drives me crazy on my HTPC that has an Ceton PCIe tuner card in it. But that being said I have an new AMD A10-7850K APU coming in the mail today (confirmed) which I will be installing along with reinstalling the Windows 7 64 bit operating system.
