Your tv will be interpolating frames back up to 60fps.

It's not totally fake, it does add a smoothing effect, tv and films are 24/30fps, without any interpolation they would be jittery as hell, any sort of motion would be blurred to help make it easier to look at.

Takes frame A and frame B, combines the two in a manner to make frame C, then plays it as A C B

for tv/movies i dont like it, as it adds a unnatural visual feel to them, it might be usfull for games if can deal with the add latency you get

Like said never liked 120/240hz etc on hdtv's cause there not really 120/240hz

To each his own, but 120/240hz on hdtv is not true 120hz like on pc's

Yeah as per above, it is totally fake, some people prefer it but the frames are obviously fake.

It awful for movies, makes most people i know feel nauseous, but does work well for sports and actually looks great on 30fps games, but only if your watching someone play a 30fps game, as even on a controller you can feel the input lag.

So planning on upgrading my HDD to an SSD.

Why you ask? My office just got a shipment of them and an extra 3 was shipped. The company won't take it back and since we don't have them on any purchase order, one of them is mine to keep. :D Intel 530 series 240gb.

Nice but that seems a bit low for a PS4 my 500GB stock unit is already over half full.

Yea it sounds pretty low considering the huge game sizes these days. That 240GB drive will have only 223GB usable and then the console uses some more space for its own purposes afaik.

I thought about it, but then I realized I haven't really used much of the storage of it. Plus I can always go back to it if need be. :D

And if you don't need to have dozens of games same time, it should be enough. I could manage with 150Gb atm.

I'm considering putting a bigger hd in my ps4. I'm downloading all my games digitally from now because it's soooooo much nicer as far as remote play with my vita. Gives me many more options when I'm away from home. I hate having to be constrained to whatever game I put in the disc tray.

What's the biggest size anyone here has installed? 1TB?

How good does the remote play work with the vita?

I agree on the TV part. Watching some movies with heavy animated parts is pretty sweet though. For example, Jurassic Park. The picture is really good for the price I paid for the TV.

As for gaming on the PS4. I really don't feel any input lag. Then again, I PC game at 60hz 1080P. Granted the PC looks better, but going from a 23in monitor to a 55in 4k there is not a huge difference in pixelation (in my eyesight).

What I'd really like to do is set up a true 4K PC set up. I don't need anything more than 60hz. Honestly though, I've never gamed at a higher refresh rate anyways so I don't even know what I'm missing.

I think it works great. At first it was a little glitchy and laggy, but after numerous updates, it's been extremely stable.

The only complaint some have is that to make up for a few of the ps4 buttons you have to use the touch screen and back touch triggers. Doesn't bother me at all, but it seems to be the only long lasting complaint.

Between remote play and some really solid vita games I love the machine. There's a Z3 Sony phone and tablet out now that have a bezel thing where you can hook up an actual ps4 controller. I believe the old Z2's support it as well now (at first it was stated they wouldn't be but Sony changed their mind).

All remote play games stream in 720p. Some like the bigger screen with the z2/3 tablet for remote play, I'm content with the vita. There's not much in the way of garbage android gaming that I would enjoy compared to the vita exclusives when stuck in a place with no wifi ro remote.

There's also supposedly a hack that allows remote play on any android 4.4.4 phone/tablet. It's a big long xdna thread. http://forum.xda-developers.com/crossdevice-dev/sony/4-4-4-stock-xperia-devices-ps4-remote-t2868092

Let me know how it works for you. I have one of the new nvidia shield tablets with the k1 chip I thought about rooting and trying this with but I've been too unmotivated to give it a shot with the vita sitting right there.
