    ALL G1 980 have 2 8-pin power adaptors
Both my cards are rev1.0 and have 2 8-pin

I have Zotac ref cards and flashed my bios to default boost to 1418.

+87mV, 125 power limit and +400mhz on Memory.

I have to offset core clock on card 1 to +35 in AB and leave card 2 at default +0 to achieve 1.250/1.256v in Boost. Otherwise I get the 2nd card under voltage issue too.

    Using 344.80 driver - Fire Strike - 19,174

    http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/4842145

They're running very stable (maxed ~70c) and some nice frames in games.

    BF4 Ultra (no MSAA) 130-144fps
Crysis 3 Very High (no AA) 90-130fps

    Asus Swift G-Sync 1440p @ 144hz is very smooth.

    Wonderful cards!

Just a little disappointed with the current MFAA and DSR limitations when using SLI / G-Sync.

Anyone know how to cure the massive tearing as if 10x vsync was off, when using Surround?

vSync is enabled in game and NVCP, and works fine in single display mode, but in surround it's as if there are two different games playing top and bottom of the screen, makes me ill - and sitting on loading screens makes an effect similar to videoing a TV screen and seeing the scan lines moving up the screen

Did you try 1 frame to render ahead + 60 fps limit on top of it?

    From NVCP ?

Still getting to grips with new nvidia settings, I did have 3 frames render ahead + vSync, then I reset NVCP 3D global settings to see if it was something I'd done, but same problem

This is happening in all games I'm trying to play in Surround, from AI to M:LL REDUX, to Alan Wake, they all tear horribly, much worse than if vsync was off

It's as if the top and bottom of the screens are completely separate, and I was getting loading screen images showing through during gaming too

The scan line effect I mentioned on the loading screens, I took a screenshot of it, and it didn't appear, so Im guessing its something to do with the refresh rate / lcd side / vsync, rather than corruption from the GPU

So i've been playing around with my G1 and the results are pretty amazing.

1600/8000 and my card doesn't even hit 60C, although my room is pretty cold atm.

I think i got a real cracker, played Grid Autosport on max settings for over 2 hours and this card hit 63C max.

That's enough for me, don't want to push it to artefact or crash even though i think this card could do a good bit more.

^^ Sweet, I think I got a pretty good clocker too, hit 1550 core without any extra vCore, and 7800 vRAM no problem, haven't tried pushing the vRAM any higher yet

I think with some extra juice I might be able to hit a bit higher than 1550, but it boosts up to 1405 completely stock anyway

It's time to get rid of that phenom. It's getting a bit long in the tooth now. The card won't get close to it's maximum potential with that CPU.

Obviously but you'd be surprised just how well this system still works so well with even the latest games.

I use this machine for gaming only and while you may be correct in the fact that i get probably 20fps or so less than a newer Intel chip. The fact is i can still get 60-75fps easily with AA and stuff cranked up.

With 3 kids to feed and a wife that likes shoes i think i'd rather just wait for DDR4 to mature and become fair priced.

I also read that CPUs will become much less of an issue in the system once DX12 releases, Mantle already does this and according to Nvidia and AMD they are trying to eliminate cpu bottlenecks in the Very near future.

1445 GPU clock which is +100 mhz is what I have been able to stable achieve with these cards on air.

Temps under load - Top card 70c and bottom card 60c. Minus is plus 2 or 3c depending on the game.

    Happy with these cards tbh.

Grats Reddoguk, that screeny surely looks like a decent overclocker card! :)
I'm not that familiar with the 980 (yet), but is that stock voltage, or how much extra did you put in?

    Hey mate thanks,

It's the max allowed in Afterburner which is +87, just a tiny bump in volts really.

    Standard for this card is 1.2180 + the 87 somehow = 1.2430.

Ah thanks. Yet again, a decent overclock on air I'd have to say!

nice card red good luck with that

yeah same when I had two 980's in.
you have to go around the driver and either add volts with modded software or hardmod.
in my case I did both now 1550 is ok in sli.
the asus card I used the app from shamino the msi card I hard modded not really even pushed it yet thuo.

Or pictures of the hardmod? :D
I may not be skilled or equipped properly to do it, but I know a guy doing such things for a living (electronical engineer who builds stuff iirc).
