    Really excellent work :)
"0x00000035" looks very good to me.
I actually planned to get to this very soon myself, but you beat me to it.

Nice work, but now I'm a little confused.
Didn't MrBonk say, that forced AA only works with a 4:3 resolution?

Sega did Sonic Adventure DX....weird on PC. So basically they released two versions on PC, one in 2004 with SecuROM DRM, and a slightly different version on steam. THey also released updates that created some issues and fixed some issues. The version I posted is not the steam version, but it has the resolution fixed as well as an xinput controller fix, and some cheats for the game. You can either run that version using the disc for the 2004 edition of the game or have it run through steam. Alternatively, there is an option in the custom launcher which allows you to skip the disc check...I suppose legality is questionable with that option lol.

Anyway, AA does work with the version I posted. Sega handled SADX horribly on PC, since there are 2 versions with different updates breaking/fixing different things. The link I gave is by far the best version.

Just so you know, flags won't be added to the spreadsheet without screenshots. Trust me, I'm lazy and just want to say "it works, trust me", but people fall for a placebo effect often or the flag has flickering, bleeding, etc. Screenshots are necessary to maintain accuracy in the spreadsheet. Hopefully you can get around to making a proper post for it.

I did. This is because there are 3 different versions of the game :stewpid::stewpid:

    Original 2003 Retail Release
    Dreamcast Collection Retail Release
Dreamcast Collection Steam Version (Which has been updated/patched) (Which is what I have covered.)

    General Information:
This game is several years old, but not really playable on PCs yet. First developer went bankrupt or something and now they are back and are working on fixing the game up again.

So there are a number of issues present still.
Changing full screen resolution crashes the game.
Changing resolution in windowed mode crashes the game.
Game doesn't have native support for other ARs than 16:9, giving you the option to letterbox it to 16:9 or 4:3 or none. Which essentially anamorphically stretches the image. So in FS 1280x1024 for me, the none-setting makes the image look 16:9. But still far from ideal
60FPS is a WIP game was originally locked to 30. Game has random performance problems in 60FPS mode

So currently I am stuck with 1280x1024 FS with vsync (yuck) or 1592x872 windowed with no vsync

Oh well not like i'm playing the game anyway right now.

    SGSSAA requires AA fix!
    Without Fix Cutscene | gameplay
    With Fix Cutscene | gameplay
There is a caveat that this still leaves behind some minor white lines on some objects, OGSSAA doesn't suffer this. But it's livable considering they are much worse without the AA fix and there is also the crazy black lines through many objects, especially in cutscenes.

    No AA
    8xSGSSAA
    4x4 OGSSAA
    16xS+4xSGSSAA

works in windowed or FS for the time being! Effect is pretty subtle, not many flags produce a result with the game. Some mess up the existing shadows in the game or other stuff.

    No AO Cutscene|Gameplay
    24 HBAO+ Cutscene|Gameplay

Sorry I haven't addressed this more. But finally after looking this through and thoroughly.

23 and 32 when they bleed have very strong vertical artifacts (That I have to assume at this point are some byproduct of the interleaved rendering of the effect). 1A,1B and 8 do not have this effect. Even when bleeding. So those are the ones I will go with.

I really think I need to start compiling a document or list about the issues with official flags. Ugh..:whip::s3d:

I ended up trying 13 on the steam version (in 4:3 of course and ironically using the same AA settings! 16xS+4xSG) and I think the results are identical, though there are some stability issues (Doesn't flicker, but on some stuff you can see it crawling:ie:Aliasing and there are some strange white outlines that flicker) and stuff seems to bleed more than it did in SA2.

    12 doesn't work

Issues are a bit worse in cutscenes too.

Experiment, use the prefix 0x00009000 and try various regular DX9 values for the first two digits from this and see if any work.

The crawling is why I said it only works in 16:9 :p I had the same issue before I found the better version of SADX. The crawling is completely gone at 16:9.

EDIT: While testing more flags, I found a more subtle flag. 0x0000002F

    http://abload.de/img/sonic-superfix_2014_19wfs0.png

It still bleeds, but its subtle effect makes it more bearable.

And another which is even more subtle: 0x00000024

    http://abload.de/img/ss2014-11-24at12.27.5hze2x.png

    Still bleeds.

Well , for what it's worth. AO and AA simply don't work in anything but a 4:3 resolution with the steam version :p (I tried again to see if AO would work at a 16:9 resolution with the 4:3 letterboxing)

I can confirm that 2F works a lot better with the steam version in 4:3! Far less issues, some are still there. But this is far more livable for this version.

Only problem is that it doesn't show up in screenshots. (So you have to printscreen to get shots)

Alright, I officially tested every single flag available lol. Any flag that didn't have bleeding had really bad flickering when jumping, which is a big problem in a platformer. The two best flags, imo, are

    0x0000002F (http://abload.de/img/sonic-superfix_2014_19wfs0.png)
    and
    0x00000024 (http://abload.de/img/ss2014-11-24at12.27.5hze2x.png)

Oh, and MrBonk, you should download the better version I linked in the first SADX post. It makes the game much better. It can be integrated into steam by simply replacing the files, but you lose steam achievements.

I tried that actually last year before they patched the steam version. And I didn't like it TBH.

The patched version on Steam now is just fine for me since it's not locked to 640x480 anymore! :D (Just need 4:3, which is fine in my book since the game was designed in 4:3)

Hopefully you update your sonic post with those flags and i'll update the document as well.

Since "0x0000001A" flickers on and off under certain situations, I think we should play it safe and only list "0x0000001B" (subtle) and "0x00000008" (strong) for FEAR.
Hopefully we can then close the book on this game (at least in terms of driver AO) ;)

    Edit:

I also think we should move Dead Space 2 to the not recommended list, with the same reference as before:

Flat out dude. These are the rules. We will not add anything to the list without a proper post. Period.

I appreciate the information for sure, because then that gives someone else an idea of where to start when making a proper post. So thanks.

Did you ever try using HBAO+ in DS2 with the light quality on high without forcing AA?

    ONLY WORKS IN 4:3 RESOLUTIONS!
(Game isn't locked to 640x480 anymore. But is always 4:3 even in 16:9 resolutions. AA&AO only work in 4:3 resolutions. So just use a 4:3 resolution and let the driver pillarbox it)

This is the only flag that produces an acceptable result in this version of the game.

It's not perfect, as there are some slight bleeding issues with only certain 2D UI elements, but they are so uncommonly on screen and so briefly that it's not a big issue.

There are some other minor issues as well, such as a little bit of crawling only on certain elements that seem fairly uncommon and a strange white line on some objects, which are somewhat common, but 9/10 times you won't notice them while playing.
