    help with User.cfg file

Can someone help a dad help his son play Dragon Age I?
Trying to fix the stutter issue for my son to better enjoy this game.
He loves Rpg's and has looked forward to this game for so long.

Ok so in the user.cfg file many are using there are these three lines:
    thread.processorcount 8
    thread.maxprocessorcount 8
    thread.minfreeprocessorcount 0

    My son has a i7 2600K
should I change any of the three values above?
Thank you ahead of time for any help.

What leads you to believe you need to modify those values?

Who gives a **** about anything but the main path? The game looks really good. You're just wrong.

Also did you turn cache off because those textures look way worse than anything I saw in the game, even the gun looks bad. Something is not right with that screen or you're not on the level about it being max graphics because it all looked so much better on my system. Also the Antarctica level when you're down in the crevasses is just about the best graphics in a game I've ever seen.

What the balls. Ugh. Too many open world games like that now! We're going backwards :(

Just want to say thanks for this! I had few flashing textures in Haven, but after disabling vsync in-game and enabling it in Inspector I've had no flashing at all.

I personally am a fan of static time. It was weird in The Witcher 2 watching the shadows constantly moving. Really took me out of it.

Cheers just saving and quitting to desktop worked, I think the game has something funky with keyboards, what you can toggle the F keys.

Skyrim did that for me. Horrible shadows that are static and then move for 2 seconds, streak everywhere and are then static again.

The static time in Dragon Age doesn't bother me nearly as much as I thought it would.

Is there a reason why the user Metacritic score is 5.3 for this game?

Probably some BS that happened before the game even launched like usual.

Metacritic is full of retards. It's 100% irrelevant.

Metacritic is a joke, I don't know why I bother to even check it out anymore. Both reviewer and user scores are way off for most games. I personally love this game, no matter what others say, it was the same with ME3. That's what matters in the end.

i strongly agree with ECLAP on this one.

    Ask US who plays it.

i highly recommend this game. a good DRAGON AGE game. they put a lot of effort on this. it looks that way for me.

If you love this game then how are reviewers way off? It was pretty universally loved amongst them.

Loving this game so far.... although my OCD has already lead me to start my 4th new game because I wasn't quite happy with the character I made!

Anyway, all is good now and I've finally got past the prologue!

Only issue I have so far is the locked 30fps is cut scenes.. which is made worse by the constant stuttering. In game stutter isn't half as bad but is noticeable (even if only very, very slightly).

Settings all at ultra. No AA. Post AA set to high and normal HBAO. K-putts sweet FX config just adds that little extra vibrancy and texture detail as well. It's a very subtle config but it's all the game needed as it already look amazing.

Getting 60 fps in buildings etc dropping in to the 30's in parts of Haven (that's as far as I've got!). All in all, very impressed and happy!
