Dear god leave witcher 3 alone, CDprojectRed is one of the few good game studios left.

    Dunno, i have a PS3 but don't feel the need to buy a PS4.
These new consoles don't impress me that much.

I've gone back to PC gaming.

I played it on 360, but the 1st person view and apparently more stable fps on PS4 makes it really interesting.

I watched TotalBiscuit's Let's Not Play AC Unity Yet video late last night and I was surprised at how many problems he was having even claiming that the game drops to sub-30 fps on the highest settings without AA. He also said that he has had numerous crashes in the few hours he played it. He has a 6-core Intel CPU, GTX Titan SLI I believe, 32 GB of memory and Windows 7, I believe.

Granted, I only played the game for two hours and in that time encountered white seam-like artifacts with TXAA and weird not-quite-right yellow lighting glitches on my system plus what feels like constant microstutter, it nevertheless runs above 40 fps on average, usually around 45-50 fps on Ultra High with PCSS shadows and TXAA. Combined with the extremely aggressive LOD system that literally switches NPC detail about 5 (game) feet away from them and it is not perhaps the most optimised game for PC but it nevertheless runs much better than I was expecting it to after the deplorable Watch_Dogs which was a major stutter-fest for many months. For me, Unity is at least perfectly playable.

That said, Ubisoft deserve all the criticism they get as it is blatantly obvious that they rushed the game out for Christmas before it was fully tested and optimised. Even the PS4 and Xbox One versions, normally the darlings of Ubisoft's business, are rife with issues including prolonged periods of framerate drops from 30 fps to 20 fps, which IMO is unplayable. I will be getting the PS4 version today or tomorrow as Amazon shipped my copy a day early (I wonder why...?) so I was too late to cancel it unfortunately.

You guys are killing me. Don't blame NVidia or Ubisoft because the game doesn't run well on your system. Your rig is way under the specified requirements, and you should have checked before buying it..

Does he have the new SLI profile? That could explain his poor performance..

Anyway, I love this game. It's the most beautiful game I've ever played bar none, and the combat is amazing. The setting and the graphics are just jaw dropping at times, and I can see the effects of the PBR. Here are some screenshots. Also look at the FPS counter. All of them are locked at 60 FPS!

i'm surprised 680 and 7970 were not a joke as minimum requirements , if we go by gamegpu benchmark they are barely holding that 30fps , and it's not even Paris where real party is at :D

Dat building texture in 2nd screenshot , damn. But sometimes game can look really great , especially when downsampled on 1080p monitor

Are you talking about my screenshots or someone else's? None of my screenshots are downsampled.

I'm sure it was because it was because the screenshot was not only resized, but heavily compressed as well. Here are some full size native resolution screenies which are of much higher quality:

I was just saying , non related.. i saw some 4k screens earlier and it really looked cool , but way too demanding for single GPU. You should try , you'd get probably more than 30fps on your setup

I could have sworn the UPlay pre-load data contained the 1.2.0 update but in-game it does display 1.1.0 and the readme file has been altered so there's no mention of 1.2.0 so I guess it got withdrawn and will be re-issued either tomorrow or sometime next week.
(Since I copy pasted the readme.txt file here from the UPlay preload data but as I said any mention of 1.2.0 is gone now. - http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?p=4955698&highlight=readme#post4955698 )
