Hi..I Just Replaced my 780Ti SLI with Zotac 980 Amp SLI. I fitted Kraken G10 with Antec 920 Coolers..The temps are lower compared when I'm using 780Ti SLI..Glad That the Amp has VRM Coolers.

What do you guys think about my Score and OC?
I got the Asus gtx980 Reference model, but it's not so good overclocker :(
can't go much higher than 1400mhz boost clock, then it starts artifacting.

Like it's now the card gets 82degrees max when running Heaven Benchmar, is this allright?

Cannot decide if i should get 980s and sell my 780s which should nearly pay for one 980, or wait until next year for something with a little more vram?

    Thanks

The reference cooler is pretty good with Titans in Quad SLI so there should be no problems with the 980s as they produce less heat. Failing that the PC they are going in has penty of spare rad space so water is an option.

The 980 coolers are not the same as the titan, no vapour chamber

If they run a bit toasty I will have waterblocks on them double quick. The case they are in has two 360mm rads in the bottom and a 480mm rad in the top. If that is not enough I also have a couple of huge external 420mm x 420mm rads and a chiller I could use so plenty of cooling options.

When they get it right quad cards are really smooth on games like Crysis 3.:)

Seems silly to get quad cards withbonly 4gb of vram. Within the next 12 months I imagine you will be kickong yourself if you are gaming at 4k.

Vram requirements are going up fast as they start to load game assets into vram instead of streaming.

Shadow of mordor uses over 4000mb vram on my 980 at 1080p with no aa.

Gaming at 4K is not a problem as I use 6gb cards if my 290Xs or the 980s run out of VRAM.

Just sent mine round the Heaven 4 bench and you are right they do run warmer than the Titans.

Does the 980 have more transistors / mm² or square inch than the Titan? Then I wouldn't be surprised by this.

newsflash for all you vram doombringers, the vram "requirements" have gone up on console ports because they have 6gb unified memory, meaning traditional system memory and video memory is bypassed. Basically means the game is a direct port without PC specific optimization therefore using as much vram as possible as cache/tempstorege/w.e. Thats why you can max the game on 3/4/6 gb cards even tho that game claims it needs 6.
