I'm back to Asder his 14.X from september 2nd, installed Afterburner, disabled ULPS and now I've a solid framerate with bf4, no hick ups and no more stuttering, so I'm fine with it. :)

I know; how dare AMD release a beta driver without any stated performance improvements for 6xxx hardware, and then end up actually having regressed performance. What is AMD thinking? Clearly NVIDIA would never, ever do this, so let me announce my decision to go to that hardware, as it is a significant endeavor, and I wish all to know of it. /s

In the end it's a good thing. The less people like that the better.

Which "sleep bug" are we referring to? I've had cases where my display will turn off and the system will BSoD upon moving the mouse. I've also had cases where my system wouldn't go to sleep but instead would BSoD upon trying to. I've also had cases where the that pesky "driver stopped responding" message would pop up when resuming from sleep/monitor off.

I'm still running the 13.12 driver on my "folding rig" because it's the most stable driver I've found. I'm running 14.4 on the system in my specs because it's the only driver that actually plays nice with my R7 240. Prior drivers couldn't even detect the card.

The one I was referring to was when the monitor would sleep, but would either not wake back up when pressing a key or moving the mouse, or the screen would wake, but remain black.

Haven't seen either issue since I settled on the 13.12 cats for my "folding rig" and the 14.4 cats for the system in my specs. The 3 issues I mentioned before occurred on my "folding rig" at random with every other driver.

Have the same thing with each driver, it's probably because I use HDMI to connect (and my monitor actually is a TV too).

You can correct it in CCC: simply switch the output colour format to RGB (Full).
I'm pretty sure it defaults to YCBCR or whatever it is with you too.

This should correct your colours and resize the screen as RGB doesn't support screen scaling in CCC
(whereas YCBCR does and defaults to the 10 % value for some reason).

in 99% of the case it is due to ULPS mode :) (as at each new driver install it is turned on again).

just disable it, relog and it should be fine.

This will only happen if you are using HDMI.

Ah, I don't have that option still, but I know why... I disabled hibernation completely by the command line. I did this because it was using 10x more writes than I normally do. This is probably why AMD can't catch the issue, I'm betting the drivers don't like that I've disabled it completely.
The write problem was back in Win8 though, haven't tested with the latest patches yet, it could be fixed. I probably shouldn't be too worried about killing my SSD now since they're so cheap nowadays.

Are you burfadel from over at MyDigitalLife? I have been using that VC installer for almost a year now. I use it on my Citrix XenApp servers because we have a million apps that install different VC runtimes and the server gets to be a mess with them.

If you play any of the games in the release notes I would upgrade. Otherwise It is probably not worth your time.

Where could I check the driver version I have installed?

I just updated to 14.9.2 and Afterburner still says I have 14.4 installed.

    I DON'T HAVE CCC INSTALLED.
