    Newest version of GFE.

I have it installed for the pushed SLI profiles and shadowplay.

I remember stripping my XP image with nlite and being very proud of only having 14 processes or so running.

    Good times :)

You could always use Razor's Game boost, it's free and automatically shuts services you select when you launch a Steam game.

No matter how low CPU usage is, the more threads the less performance of OS due to OS` thread scheduler nature.

Actually you can set it so that it notifies you when profiles & optimal settings are updated/available. What sucks is they don't tell you what specific profiles have been updated or pushed.

You can still use the old nvidia update, which is still included in the drivers, just not available by default.
Requires an edit to the setup.ini, instructions are on this forum somewhere.
    Been doing this for ages

gives you all the updates without needing Experience.
Or use the Quadro drivers which use nvidia update by default
