One thing that you can't possibly miss on this monstrous motherboard is storage connectors! ASRock X99 Extreme11 boasts a total of 18 SATA3 connectors on the side of the motherboard, including 10 SAT... ASRock X99 Extreme11 Motherboard
Oh, there it is again, the PLX PEX bridge. Do those things really work, I mean, the additional lanes, like it was native? And I'm still missing WLAN on such high end board, just my opinion though.
I like how it looks but i hate it at the same time for some reason, probably because of the colors. And what is with that "X-Fan" thing lol, are they putting an X in front of everything now? The marketing department must be running out of ideas.
Yes, it is used since long time for GPU computing. just a few less than native (you don't even notice in normal use) but way more than the X4 or X8 or even X1 that it should be... also ASRock use it since lot of time with success on extreme series and pro mobo. Hopefully it will be all black for us
It does have a bland, industrial look. But I doubt anyone getting it for all that Sata ports and PCIE lanes is going to mind.
Ahh, thanks for the info! If I wasn't going for X99 later this year, I would have looked for a X97 mainboard, and came across those PEX things and wondered if it would actually make sense to go for such a mainboard for tri-SLI and similar configrations. Also, these days, with the M2 SSDs, additional PCIe lanes are always handy!
Why? why in blue ???? I like the features of this MB, I have the extreme11 x79 and I have just a small complaint, the x-fan makes too much noise ........ and now in Blue & $% &% $ ($ ((
The PCIe spacing is perfect on that board. Even if you have 4 video cards, you can have them all double spaced. The only thing I would miss is a regular PCI slot. And all those SATA ports.. and dual M.2 slots... drool
The fan is the most stupid of it's kind, EVER. That, alone should discourage any serious customer (another reason being - it is made by AsRock, the buggier than Biostar and MSI together...).
Although I don't quite agree with general judgement of ASrock boards (never had a problem with my last one before my current rig, ran nice and still is as my HTPC mainboard), I agree, I'd never buy a mainboard with such a fan!
