Hi. Before consultation I give my specs: i7 4770k @ 4.5GHz 16GB RAM @ 1660 r9 280x OC Gigabyte GS 800W PSU Crossair I have thought about purchasing a new graphics card (powerful). I'm thinking about buying R9 295x2. Which one you recommend r9 295x2, Titan Black or GTX 980 ... PS: yes, I plan on purchasing a 4k monitor (when I can)
In my opinion, if u planning to buy only one card, and for the best performance out of the three options, 295x2 will be the best choice, but if u want to buy more than one card and u wanna get something new, u can go for 2 x 980, or u can wait for the new 980ti or the new amd gpu~ not recommend the titan
I thought that, but my second card will be on PCIEx4...so...I would prefer the r9 295x2. Anyway, anyone, have an idea when the new cards will be released .This year or next year?
The replacement titans are rumored to come out before the end of the year, GM210 will be 30-40% faster than the 980
Since we are talking about 4k you would still need dual GPU card like r9-295x. Yes, GTX 780Ti in SLI does exactly same, but I do not see that happen unless you buy new mobo. GTX 970/980 on 4K suffer a lot therefore I see no point in waiting for dual 970 card. For any single GPU card to be better than r9-295x for 4K purposes, it would need 2x performance of GTX 980. And considering prices + 1.5 year of waiting for that single GPU solution or 10months waiting for next dual GPU solution good for 4K, I would just go for r9-295x now. (as long as you already have 4K TV/monitor) If you have not pushed trigger on that 4K yet, I advice to wait. You want one with adaptive-sync anyway. And at time (4-6months) you will be shopping for that, GPU market will be different in prices too.
