FIFA 15 PC (Ignite Engine) Confirmed

It looks like DOF is disabled in the PostFX.lua file though as the Settings.lua one has an entry that ends with PostFX_DOF, 1, which I'm assuming means enable DOF? However, the game has no DOF effects so I'm guessing it is disabled elsewhere, likely in the PostFX file.

 

Anyone having the issue with the game crashing at the load-up screen ? No help from EA as of yet and no realistic solutions out there.

 

There should be 2 "PostFX_DOF" entries (under high and low) in the settings.lua you can set to "1". If that doesn't work then the modder must have hard-coded the data_startup.bh file to disable DOF.

 

Yes, I did because I am using Afterburner's OSD.

What you need to do is:

1. Either leave the Origin overlay on and disable Afterburner's OSD; or

2. Disable the Origin overlay and leave Afterburner's OSD on.

I'm using 2. because I am one of those weirdos who likes taking screenshots while I play games plus I'm a tech-head and like to see how my PC components are being used in the games.

The High setting, which I'm using, is already set to "1" in the settings.lua file though which is why I think the DOF has been disabled in the postfx.lua file. The Low setting is set to 0 but surely setting that to 1 isn't going to make any difference as I am not using low settings? :3eyes:

Would using the original data_startup.bh, which I backed up, allow for the use of DOF whilst still keeping all the other tweaks? I especially like the LOD improvements as the players look really detailed even on the default camera so I do not want to lose though. However, I do personally like the use of DOF in this game.

 

I haven't been game enough to tweak the postfx.lua file so I'm not sure what effect that would have.

Going back several years there's confusion about the Medium and Low settings in settings.lua. Generally they seem to refer to the graphic setting but some of them seem to affect the game depending on the camera angle. For example I nerfed the LOD multipliers for Medium and Low, then zoomed in on an Instant Replay and the player textures looked like something out of an N64 game.

Try using the original data_startup.bh with the other 2 files and see what happens.

 

I was just gifted Fifa 2015 for my birthday. Currently downloading and will be testing it out on my new 4K setup. Based on what I have seen of Thief in 4K, Fifa 15 should run very smooth.

 

Would love to see a pic of it running on a 4k screen...drool...

p.s it's a great game! best fifa in a long while..although perhaps a few things could be improved.

when i play the FPS is 60 but when i take a free kick,goal kick or corner kick and cutscene is drop to 33-35 FPS

Create a profile for FIFA 15 in Nvidia Inspector and enable Adapative Vsync and FPS Limit of 60. If that doesn't work enable Triple Buffering as well.

 

LOD tweak files compatible with the new patch. DOF is disabled. I'm working on a version with DOF enabled but no luck so far.

Bad because we may get tearing between 31 and 59fps at 60Hz. Therefore, I always used vsync "classic" enabled.

btw when i receive a message from origin or open origin my fifa turn into windows mode
some say press alt + enter, it works its turn to full screen but its not my resolution, but become like a 720P movie resolution :bonk:

 

Yeah, there's no proper alt-tab fuction in FIFA 15. Try disabling the Origin Overlay if you can do without it.

I didn't have the problem you described until I started using 4k DSR. Now I can't alt-tab into windowed mode and back or it does exactly as you describe.

cleaned out drivers with a driver cleaner like ddu and reinstalled?

do you get slowdowns in replays etc? after scoring a goal for example.
