2400 or 2800 I think people will aim for.

 

The 2666 set im looking at has lower timings than most 2800 ive seen so why is the latter better for gaming?

 

i can not get mine past 4.3ghz
this is the reason why i sold my x99 system this morning.
i have since set my 4790k system back up all stable at 4.9ghz once again
it makes a big difference to me for minimum fps.

 

That's a shame RPG, were you not tempted to try a different chip?

best i got was 4.4ghz

 

I always go faster mhz rather than timings, intel chips always have favored high frequency over timings.

15/2666 * 1000 = 5.626406601650413
16/2800 * 1000 = 5.714285714285714
16/3000 * 1000 = 5.333333333333333

3000mhz is best outta the lot. Theres even a CL15 3000mhz kit from gskill.

Thanks, I'm pleased with both Core and Cache speed at such low voltage.
Rock stable in all benchmarks and BF3/BF4 so far and paired with my two 780 Ti Classified performance is very good. Need to upgrade my PSU from the AX1200i tho, with GPU's at 1350/1950 the rig pulls 1300W++ from the wall and OCP has kicked inn a couple of times.:eyes:

 

XD That's nuts. How much is the CPU drawing at that kinda speed?

 

Not sure but above 550W on the whole rig with only CPU load at 100%, but I have a lot of fans, pumps etc.

 

odd seen review of them drawing 1500w from it before it shuts down

take using corsair link software?

 

As I said min shuts down somewhere above 1300W not sure how high it goes.
Highest I've seen from the wall without shutdown was 1380W

 

make sure you haven't got OCP enabled on any of rails via corsair link software

enabling it artificially reduces what rail can put out wattage wise

in software you should be able see power in W an power out W with eff %

it's monster PSU an it shouldn't be shutting down unless it's going faulty

it's officially rated 1200w but it can handle 1500w
