Congrats on buying 4gb cards that can effectively use 4gb of vram. Although I would of held out for the 1tb version.

    So mean.. :deflate:

    But it still wouldnt matter.
Not even 8 GBs could save anyone from experiencing Datch Wogs in its full stuttery mess glory

thanks for the info! i might be able to fit it in my next new case then: a Nanoxia Deep Silence 4. room for the graphicscard is merely rated at 265mm and 10.5in come down to about 268mm. might fit then.

one last thing: what did you measure? I need the measurement of the pcb (without the dvi port) including the fan casing that seems to stick a bit out of that card :)

After seeing all the new cards I decided to do one last set of benches with my current 670 just to have a contrast.

Once I get my 970s on Monday, I'll be looking at running benches of single and sli and provide all the numbers.

Would my setup have any bottlenecks with current games?

So ye im thinking about getting 970 now and maybe later update whole rest pc and maybe get other 970 too.

If I get 1x 970 now would it be fine with my cpu etc?

Its harder to find than some of the others. I have a similar system (i7 975). I have never used more than about 4gb of my 6gb. I picked 12gb a year ago, and still only used about 4gb of it. My issue with the ram was my ram clocks jumped from 6-6-6 to 8-8-8. On these X-58 systems its not the MHz that makes these things fly its the timings.

    Thanks! ^-^
So a single 970GTX can't effectively use 4gb of vRAM? Man, I don't know what I was thinking with my better performing dual 670 ;)

Any pointers on the 1tb version? I really need to place a pre-order. So much power, so little vRAM... I'm stepping up by christmas.

Hi there to all of you lucky bastards from 970 club!

First of all congratz on great new cards you have there, I'm jealous like a dog on all of you. Still haven't got a chance to test or buy some 970 or 980 personally, here where I am 970 and 980 availability is still zero at retailers :( Hope that's going to change in week or two, but as usually prices here are far more higher than in rest of the civilized world so I'm gonna wait some for dust to settle and then probably buy me some 970, curently aiming at MSI.

Second... Anyone here willing to share some light about GPU's ASIC quallity on cards you're using? Can you even read ASIC on 970 via GPU-Z? I'm especially interested about ASIC on those of you running GPU's @ 1500+ OC on air (guess no one is using water, yet). Also what voltage are those GPU's running while boosting to max?

Maybe it's a good idea for OP to update first post every week or so with short info about all of you with 970 like: manufacturer and model, max.GPU boost while OC, max.OC freq.for memory, GPU voltage, ASIC, max.TDP and temperature at max... I think it will be interesting info both for you here and for some newcomers interested to join 970 club like me :)

    Thanks in advance to everyone!

So.. I found the G1 finally listed on a local website here, it is also out of stock just like the EVGA but they do not state the date they will be getting their new batch on the Giga G1... So.. should I cancel the EVGA for the Gigabyte? Same price, G1 is cooler and quieter and also has 6+8pin so it "should" oc better too.

Also, the EVGA cards delivery date is oct 2nd, so it's not like i'll be cancelling on a card could I be getting my hands on by next week or anything..
