Dabbled with the idea but my problem is that I change things often and I already hate taking my case apart without adding more things to take apart.

My temps rarely break 70c so as much as it would be nice to see 50c under load, I just don't want the hassle :)

Honestly though, what did you do with your titans?

Despite them being slightly slower than 980 Cards, id still rate them as a better option when it comes to 3 way sli due to bandwidth / vram.

I'm keeping them, will dump them into my second box (Flight sims and Elite) and sell the 780s that are in there now.

I want to see benchmarks of moderate GTX 780 Ti overclock like 1250Mhz GPU / 7600Mhz VRAM and moderate GTX 980 overclock (1600Mhz GPU / 8000Mhz VRAM). GTX 780 Ti isn't far from GTX 980 when both cards use stock clocks, but GTX 980 stock clocks are higher, aren't they? Anyway, I just want to see how a moderately overclocked GTX 780 Ti compares to moderately overclocked GTX 980 before I make my final decision to upgrade to GTX 980 or not.

Always buy between AMD and Nvidia.

Great card this 980, tomorrow I'll push 1600 on the core.

The 290x will go into the HTPC and the GTX670 will be used for Physx in this rig.

Oh my, I envy you guys... can't wait to see those things work under 3way SLI with proper overclocking... and of course, those h2o cooled setups... this will still be like way beyond what I'd have expected out of the 980, imagine those clocking to 1700 or 1800 under water, with a triSLI setup...

They will with a volt mod easily.
These are the cards and there respective Power and VRAM Phases.
    Reference: 4+1 phase
    ACX SC: 4+2 phase
    Strix: 6+1 phase
    Gaming: 6+2 phase

Nvidias Greenlight program has stopped alot of potential volt modding from various vendors. Unless your on water guys or even more exotic cooling then this does not really apply, be happy and enjoy your new cards!:)

@Rflair let me know what your max oc is and stable and i will update the first page of this thread.

I should have mine already, but DPD are bloody useless and tried to deliver to a place that isn't my house. :( So they'll either come back or reattempt tomorrow. Gutted.

I just had my EVGA GTX 980 SC delivered about 15 minutes ago by DPD, who came exactly on time (love their tracking service!), but all I've done so far is opened the packaging to admire the graphics card (looks like the twin brother of my GTX 780 but the reference design is still very premium and stunning IMO). Scan packed it very well as per usual and EVGA do a reasonable job of throwing in a few extras with their cards such a case badge, poster and such. They've even put a rubber protector around the PCI-e connector on the card too. Notable omissions are a driver disc (they were always out of date, true, but I liked to have them all the same) and some free games. The lack of free games or even GTX 970/980 specific demos is for me the biggest disappointment. I know it's up to the card vendor but at one time you always got free games and demos and the latter where usually the first thing I'd try on my new card.

Anyways, because I sound like a moaning old git, I'm off to run a few benchmarks on my GTX 780 before I swap it out for my GTX 980?

P.S. Do I still need to uninstall the v344.11 drivers when the new card is using the same ones? Won't Windows just reinstall those for the new card if I leave them installed?
