max gpu temp in that run was 62C. I had the thing on 100% though. But here's the catch. It was still quieter that my 7950 CFX at auto. By a fair margin. Off to play Destiny.

    suicide run lol, like that.

Just placed an order for a EVGA GTX 970 for $329. Should get it some time next week. Should be a nice upgrade over the GTX 580 that I currently have. The 580 has started to show it's age so it was time, especially at that price.

Would my CPU be a bottle neck? Not sure how it compares? I'm getting 980 SLI.

looks ok I guess at max OC :p

I get a bit better gpu score at near max OC, have around 40-50mhz extra room

Firestirke lags behind 1800points, but I see that's max 5-7fps difference :nerd:

the 970 seems pretty average in 3Dmark11, do you have a Fire Strike score too? just curious. Seems like that is where the 970 shines.

    @ eclap

Have you tried the MSI Gaming App ?

If so, does it allow viable OC options ?

    @ general

Does it (MSI Gaming App)have limiters to prevent insane OC's in order to preserve the warranty ?

    no worries dude.

the reason I ask is because I've been led to believe that if you OC with the Gaming App and things go BANG then you don't void your warranty with MSI.
Which leads me to believe it may be a limited tool.

Before I get my 970, I would like to bench my 7870. What would be the best (free ) software to do that with?

Having a hard time remember that one, did you ever run it? IIRC my max score was 15k something. Also found out that my boards PLX can affect score up to 700 points :(

Good thing i can order my mobo for this 5820K tomorrow :nerd:

Edit: one of you with a 970 mind screen capping nvidia inspector, i want to try to get DSR(supersampling) enabled, seeing as someone with a 770 got it working.

He didnt, he used someone else screen..

I tired it now and there is no such option, only in nvinspector and it doesnt show in nvcpl after you enable it..

Tested by AlanWake profile, although I didnt test actual game yet.

I forget what thread it was in but it was firestrike my 670's at max clocks you had claimed your Titan could beat my GFX score. I'll try and find it.
