Burnt Offerings probably fits the bill for the OP's requirements also, old house and all. I'm getting bucketloads of nostalgia reading this thread and thinking about all the old horror movies I used to sneak up to watch as a kid. Will really have to watch a few of them again.
@Veteran well i like both of them Insidious and the conjuring .James Wan is a great movie producer, and yes you are right about Hellraiser wich we're awesome back in the day classics!! @CPC_RedDawn I watched A Serbian Film (movie) and yes that film is just sickening..
Yep I hope you watched the unrated version as according to Wiki most versions have around 8-14 whole minutes cut out!!! I watched it, and whilst I thought everything about the film was great, well made, edited, well lit, well acted, great special effects.... However, those few scenes and that ONE SCENE IN PARTICULAR were just down right sickening!! Now go watch Inside from 2007 its a french film, very very good but also one scene at the end it pretty hard to watch. Martyrs is also great probably my fav horror movie of the past ten years by far. It has so many layers to it, great acting, awesome special effects, amazing twists, and in parts its also hard to watch and down right creepy at times.
CPC_RedDawn about a serbian movie i watched the unedited version and there are a few very sickening scenes in it,i must admit i watched it with my ex wife wich was pregnant at that time and that was not a good idea uke2:. Thx for the movie tip about Inside and Martyrs
Seriously, The Exorcism of Emily Rose is the scariest for me. Scenes are not jumpy like some cheesy horror stories. But the movie fcks your brain up because it tells about a girl being possessed by 6 demons. No head twisting, no spitting goo, no blood slewing everywhere, it was just effing disturbing. Disturbing anough that whenever I woke up at 3am, I dont sleep anyore until 4am. If you havent watched it, dont. Another good recommendation is Sinister. The title itself sums up the movie. Disturbing, a little jumpy and cheesy at some scenes and a crappy ending. And don't forget Jacob's Ladder. Dude.
Mine so far the scariest were The Exorcist Exorcism of Emily Rose The Thing 1,2 Hellraiser 1-2 The Decent Elm Street 1-3 Event horizon The Fog SilentHill 1 Amityville Childs Play Shutter The Skeleton Key People under the stairs; was scary when I was a kid The Reaping Poltergeist 1-3 Stephen King had some cool ones too, Silver bullet Pet Semetary Sleep Walkers It & Children of the corn; but now its not so guess cause i was a kid back then Mist
The Innocents - Classic 1961 UK film about spirit possessions that WILL chill you to the bone. Great setting, story, writing, acting. Leave the lights on! The Legend of Hell House - 1973
house of the 1000 corpses & devils rejects the are good... ive you like some movies you have to watch this guys on: www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLBZXkOVkOn1ko9pDOFhTK-PrUvFh402bp there are some good ****ed up movies out there... not for the weak stomach people!! i have warned you!!
Devils Rejects is among my favorite movies, but I didn't like House of the 1000 corpses that much. It was a bit more of the supernatural side, whereas Devil's Rejects was more of a character driven movie, that didn't have anything supernatural in it, only some gore. Great soundtrack too.
nice list guys! I'd like to add: Hatchet The Descent I Spit On Your Grave (original 1978 version, NOT the remake!)
How about Turkish "I spit on your grave"? http://www.thecinemasnob.com/the-cinema-snob/turkish-i-spit-on-your-grave
Try and sit through ANY of these movies! WARNING THESE MOVIES ARE PRETTY GRAPHIC! Spoiler August Undergound Movies are pretty damn low budget but they really are pretty graphic. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- On a lighter note has no one mentioned these classics yet? More horror comedy but still classics! The 1985 version is a classic! Love it! The makeup in this is awesome! From the Creator of Alien the late Dan O Bannon, this film is simply excellent. Shockingly bad acting, but coupled with some amazing specialFX, kick ass score, and some great scenes. Micheal J Fox stars in this Peter Jackson classic, apart from some pretty dated CGI now it has some excellent scenes.
Here is a good list of some of the more disturbing videos Spoiler Put it behind a spoiler as the video thumbnail contains some graphics images.
Watched the devils rejects. Didn't enjoy it at all. Just thought it was boring. Event Horizon a sci fi horror is one of my top favs.
I think that was Evil Dead 2, more of a Horror/comedy. Now the first Evil Dead that is a good Horror movie
