3DMark scores of a GeForce GTX 980 and 980M SLI have surfaced on the web today, the website Videocardz posted them. Before I continue I want to say that there is no validity of the screen-shots whatso... The First GeForce GTX 980 Benchmarks ?
Validity concerns aside, but to me it just looks like the GTX 780 Ti released ages ago. *sigh* guess I'll keep hanging on then for something that actually performs better than currently release cards.
These websites that leak or create pre video card data/ benchmarks are only interested in you clicking their websites. More ad revenue please, thanks.
These supposed "leaks" are just bait&click websites, there are lot of these nowadays, I'll wait for some actual and factual performance reviews, thank you very much
That would be a bit disappointing for what will already be, technically, a refresh product. Hopefully, IF these benchmark results are real, the performance level is due to "non-optimized" drivers.... I'd like to see a larger increase going to the GTX960 than what we saw with the 660. The 660 is mildly impressive in reviews, but in my experience, is quite a bit lacking in real-world use. I had to go SLI just to get a bump in performance compared to the 560Ti that I replaced.
Nah NVM, I think we're being flashed here. I think the 750Ti spoke for itself. These Maxwell cores are going to be awesome, just as the upped L2 cache will justify the 256 bit bus just fine. 10% less cores at 2560 but 35% more performance per core.
with a sweeter than sweet overclock the 780ti classified can do 15k gpu score, i imagine 980 vanillas will get close to that number with a good OC.
I can't freakin believe AMD's 295x2 still beats it, even in SLI!!! I mean it's an old architecture, and the fact that it's clocked lower adds more salt to the wound :giggle2: If you were to overclock the 295x2 to match the GTX 980 in sli, it would have an 8% performance difference, maybe even bigger to if you were to benchmark it in 4k!!!
You know the reason AMD dropped the price on their R9 295 X2's is because they knew this card was coming. Yeah it may be temporary, but they did it to try and push some sales before people try to grab two GTX 980's that will probably match or beat it out with mature drivers and a nice OC.
