Peoples need to understand that the name of IP or sku is like a marketing name, mainly for simplify the things for public.

In general, the x10 of an architecture, traditionally was mean it is a refresh.. this said the initial one could have been stopped before been even in test..

Will not be forcibly the case for Maxwell anyway..

Who knows what there planning to release, GM200 is the most powerful one, so the Maxwell Titan II i woulda thought as being GM200 with a refresh coming later.

GM204 could be the new 880's that are coming.
    http://www.pcr-online.biz/news/read...axwell-gm204-gtx-graphics-cards-report/034326

So they maybe planning to release the GM204 880s with an "early adopting" powerhouse at the same time which maybe Titan II GM200 with refreshes coming later on the Titan II for cheaper price. Rinse and repeat ie: Another mid-range model replacing GM204 and then Titan III comes for early adopters with a refresh coming later at a cheaper price.

Same Strategy as Original Titan and 780Ti.

I think they are going to release the titan 2 as early as they can with the hopes of amd not being able to counter it at the time of release like the original titan, amd didnt have anything competitive till a few months later. People keep buying these cards nvidia is going to keep selling them.

so if im understanding you correctly gk100 never made it past the testing phases so thats why it was skipped and we first saw gk110? But for maxwell the first will be gm200?

Will HDMI 2.0 be on the titan 2?

It'll probably be overpriced as hell knowing Nvidia. And it'll be less then the full chip, then later they'll sell the full chip as Titan Z II. :p

Here's what the correct price scheme would be, if Nvidia wasn't so greedy! :bang:

    Titan II - $750
    GTX 880Ti - $650
    GTX880 - $450
    GTX870 - $350
    GTX860 - $250
    GTX850 - $150
    GTX840 - $100

Doesn't it all depend on how much vram the 880Ti might get?

4 and 8GB are rumoured, dont know whey there releasing 8GB. Well when you think about it core clocks must have increased dramitically for them to go for an 8Gb card.

Nvidia are obviously trying to get this out the door quickly before AMD have something faster and at half the price.

The 8GB of VRAM will be one justification for what I suspect will be the $1200-1400 price tag.

If the performance is minimum 50% better across the board, these could be interesting, but then there is the likely Titan Z type pricing unfortunately :(

Only once in my life I spent $1049 US Dollars + shipping + taxes for a brand new Asus Titan when they came out , after everything was said and done I end it up paying around $1,100 US Dollars for one VGA :/ . Long story short the VGA lasted me only 2 weeks , pushing only 1.32v under water-cooling , overclocking and running 3DMark Fire Strike Extreme the VRM area blew up ( true story ) with a nice light show and burned of electronics smell all over my house LOL. I fell so silly because I lost 1,100 US Dollars in such a small amount of time and there was no RMA , lost it all. Titan VGAs are not overclocking friendly with high volts , they are not made for that kind of stuff. I promise myself I would never be a fool and pay stupid amount of money for a Single VGA , Nvidia has to learn you can fool your customers once but not twice ;).

in my opinion you have to be completely ignorant and really classicly brainwashed (like in ***** era) to want to spend 1000 bucks for a titan bullshii... gpu, even if the money is not the issue i would neverr and everr support a company to keep their prices so high for something that could have been or be much cheaper!!!!

While I agree that the Titan GPU was not a good idea for Nvidia but who is their target audience with this card? I mean who are they trying to market the card for?

It was a 'novelty' card and when it was released I don't think anyone who bought one thought that Nvidia would release something almost as fast and substantially less expensive within two months.
