Noticed my GPU is using some form of silicon (kind of like putty) on the memory chips on my GPU. Also noticed when cleaning it that they have become pretty dirty. What is the best replacement? I was looking at these... http://www.amazon.co.uk/202mm-2mm-S...d=1406498408&sr=8-3&keywords=gpu+thermal+pads or these http://www.amazon.co.uk/Generic-10x...id=1406497806&sr=8-2&keywords=gpu+memory+pads
Either, I don't think the mem chips produce all that much heat tbh. Fujipoly is the best thermal pad I have seen but at a price.
What about these? http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=TH-001-AK&groupid=701&catid=27 pretty cheap
As much as the Akasa thermal tape is good, I would exercise caution with them since they are only 0.3mm thick. My R9 290 has smt components, close to the VRM MOSFETs, that are actually taller than the MOSFETs themselves so I needed at minimum 1mm thermal pad to clear them. Like advised by others, Fujipoly extremes are very good but any decent thermal tape should suffice.
