    Yeah, that's a bit off isn't it.

Legal or not, code behind the UI re-written or not, still is taking the piss in an incredibly brazen and out of order fashion.

Sure, the graphing function is hard to beat (even then it's details are a "little" too close, they are not even trying....), but there is no reason to make the rest (tabs and option layout etc etc etc) basically Identical.

    Poor play EVGA...

Hmm I guess they are trying to make a game out of OCing your graphics card.

    Me too

Even the placement of UI elements and the window width are way too close. There would be no sense at all for the programmers to copy things like this, they could have fixed that kind of issues in the process for free. Must be copied code alltogether and just made some minor cosmetic changes.

Can't wait to see the one that tells you you've just toasted your card.

I would assume the only reasoning behind copying the UI would be to keep it as familiar as possible for it's customers, don't agree with it myself as it is an obvious rip off of Unwinders hard work and wouldn't surprise me if they copied the code behind the software as well.

Why would they put this on Steam? If it launches through Steam, how would you launch a game? You can't have 2 Steam apps running at the same time.

Even if they did develop their own code, they clearly jacked the GUI, and that is also protected intellectual property.

    Copy or not

Whether this is a copy or not, since this is EVGA's first attempt at going about it on their own, I'm going to wait for PrecisionX 15.1 before I upgrade.

Also, I couldn't run BF4 at all with Riva Tuner running since a BF4 update about a month ago so I haven't run it since.

Whether or not I'll use this new iteration of PrecisionX will depend fully on whether it can run in conjunction with BF4.

Pretty sure that was an Origin update that broke it. I can't run anything with the Origin overlay turned on. Turn it off and it works fine.

You can simply disable the Origin overlay and your problem is fixed.

I know it'll prob get taken down but I made sure to post this on the EVGA Precisionx15 DL steam forums page, figured some may be interested.

    I'm, honestly, perplexed.
They show 0 respect to Unwinder.

I hope this gets sorted out QUICK.

    Sorry, who said so?
    You can.

    Incorrect info

Guys I strongly urge you to read post number 37 here:

    forums.evga.com/FindPost/2190778

Unwinder who was the initial developer has not left the project. If you need any further info ask one of the EVGA mods on the EVGA forums

Hmm Interesting. If Unwinder had anything to do with this project and it looks like he did there is really no stealing involved here.

    You totally misread that.

He has not killed RTSS for EVGA to support the end users and neither did he abandon the end users. In fact you might see some future Precision builds just 'not officially' from EVGA. That's what he states there. Unwinders email address ends with @guru3d.com, I speak to him pretty much weekly and sometimes daily. So you better believe this story.

He did not have anything to do with this project / PrecisionX 15.

I stopped using EVGA Precision X about four or five months ago when I found the overlay was not working with a number of 64-bit games. Since then I've been using MSI Afterburner but I always wondered why Precisiion X was never updated as well. Now I know.

Do not misinterpret it please and pay attention to "I'll release new versions myself" words. I haven't left the project and I physically cannot leave it because I'm still the only legal copyright owner of this software product. Yes, it cannot be EVGA branded and use EVGA Precision trademark anymore, but I won't let it die and I will support it in some form even without the company. That's everything I can say now. Hardcore fans of old good EVGA Precision won't be disappointed or hurted in any way. Stay tuned!
