Huh? It's there in Win8.x, but you got'a surf into a windows subdirectory and read an .xml with a text editor, or some such tool, to see it. :nerd:

(There's this "mem throughput" number you can push into CryEngine games, sys_budget_streamingthroughput, and you get it from "winsat mem", or longer such tests.)

 

I'm looking for a driver tester, for the Geforce 340.52 driver. When installing, the Windows driver signature verification should not be disabled.

Yea maybe I got this from you originally, thanks for that buddy thats a good tip!

Most people arent very good at handling information correctly. They just assume what they think is true. Without doing a proper test/evaluation process. Quite unfortunate. Like the guy recently here (in this or some other thread) claiming watch dog didnt run better because there was nothing in the changelog about it. Thats a quadruple facepalm imho (it involves feet). Fwiw Tj, I find your tips good most of the time .


Winsat does exist in win8.1 it just doesnt have a gui. You can run it on the command line like I do. The results are saved in an .xml iirc.

I thought I'd give these a try to see, but my baseball not as smooth play, versus 337.91 driver. And thanks to the peep who provided the INF, sry forgot to look I'm getting lazy in my old age. Peace guys .........

that happened in 340.43 and i cleared my drivers and 340.51 fixed that issue

 

I TOTALLY Agree, GTA 4 doesn't even think about lagging!

 

Sorry but it hasn't been written yet by the tech docs team so I don't have it yet.

 

Can you provide more info? What movie in particular? Which video player are you using? Which monitor or 3D HDTV are you using?

 

For the benefit of others; doing the above is the same as selecting high performance under power options. Also selecting high performance in windows 8 / 8.1 also disables core parking so no other method is needed.

These drivers also felt smoother for me in games than other 340 drivers.

Garbage drivers.. They still break tessellation in Lockheed Martins Prepar3D. This was introduced in 340.43

 

Any ideas on the newer Geforce drivers?

 

What I did-
I forgot to disable driver signature verification for modded inf, nothing happened after a couple of seconds it said Installation failed.

Then I tried with Driver Signature disabled and voila!. It installed successfully so it means that if you enable drive signature checking and install modded inf driver nothing happens as the driver refuses to install.

hm its probably connected with Vally bug, only there they're square shaped.



Also HardReset still TDRs @ higher OC with these 340.52. Any 337.xx acts normally with 4xmsaa - benchmark mode..

ManuelG is this something I will have to deal with it or will nv check this too?

I usually play the game vsynced or non OC'ed anyway, but its benchmark can be handy when it comes to cpu bound stuff and with 4xmsaa vsync off for gpu stability at certain OC.

 

@BedantP, Thanks for testing. Have you also installed the certificate, as described in the spoiler? Before installing the driver? The cert is located in the nv_disp.cat file into the Display.Driver folder.
What operating system do you use?

 

Can you link me to something showing that?
