It has at least 1 hdmi port so yes. No light boost or gsync though obviously.

Unfortunately no. Since this is a G-Sync monitor, the only input connection it's going to have is Display Port.

Guys, a question. Given that ULMB is basically backlight strobe control at a constant frequency = refresh rate, that the monitor can obviously know regardless of the source it is plugged into, be it a PC with an Nvidia / AMD graphics card, a PS4, etc... would ULMB work without having a PC with an Nvidia graphics card connected to the monitor? Or does the Nvidia GPU have to communicate with the monitor in a "G-Sync-ish" manner in order for ULMB to be available (as a button press on the monitor, no less!)?

I remember there being a LightBoost hack for a BenQ LightBoost monitor, but it entailed modifying something on the PCB. With G-Sync basically being a black box of sorts, I'm not sure if this is even possible if ULMB cannot be turned on normally without a "G-Sync supporting" Nvidia GPU.

Anyone have any information on this? ULMB could be really useful for those looking to maintain FPS close to their refresh rates on all sorts of hardware (non-PC included).

ULMB wont work if you have G-Sync enabled. But you can turn it on manually via the OSD and the only option you have is on or off. Also, you don't have to be hooked up to a gpu in order to use ULMB. I have my PS4 hooked to my vg248qe right now with ULMB turned on.

One more thing. If you do want to hook up a console to a G-Sync monitor you will need an active adapter. The one in the link below works just fine.

Thanks, that's what I wanted to know.

Being able to use ULMB makes this monitor a lot more interesting for those with AMD graphics cards.

Will wait until it drops down to ~500-600 on sale and may very well pick one up. Although I'd prefer to have one a bit larger than my current 27", the benefits and quality of this monitor seems like its upgrade enough..

That said, I noticed on the site that it says it requires 650 TI or more recent.. does that mean that my GTX 670 won't be compatible for G-Sync?

That's a piece of styrofoam. The Asus rep replied to someone asking about it in the youtube comments.

I agree with this... my 1440p monitor has 2 dead pixels in the sides, and i can barely see them, even when i look for them... so if the White dot was actually a "dead pixel", it would consist of like 10 dead pixels in one spot.

I heard that too, but wasn't in relation to UK, I think, it was being delayed in the US
