I dont want to offend any body else but you are the only that can make dof to look realistic, convenient, beautiful and handy. It really adds to the atmosphere of the gameplay :)
I just wanted to let you know

Hey @Lunayah did you ever realised that fog is a problem somtimes when you are under a bridge or in a tunnel in the game? It seems like fog is completely disables itself and enables when you are out of the tunnel.

Your DOF is great man thanks for that, i think strong one adds good looking cinematic effect, and covers lots of jaggies in the game :)

I like all render results so far and i guess the hardest to get good looking is this Light Render state

you virtually have only 1 Directional Light and the Light Probes here available and lot of stuff becomes flat without a Dynamic GI :(

A direct compare with Vanilla in this Render State should show not so much difference with any mod i guess

Here are my very early test results (Vanilla) of this Render State, i don't think the Moded looks better different yes but it looses it dynamics a lot especialy in BossMafioso Render Outputs.

You can hurt a lot if you push Contrast on the Gama to much and Destroy a lot :(

Also most of the textures aren't optimized for such a High Contrast response they are optimized for a more Physical Correct one.

We don't see the Real World in so much Contrast, Ubisoft did well here with the Default Balancing with their non Dynamic GI imho :)

It looks nice and it's a nice vision of it and yes it looks like many of the Demo shown setups but sharper of course compared to the compressed video Demo results :)

But i would say 20 would still look good keep your vision and be much nicer to the HDR dynamics :)

in anyway posting JPGs for compare is absolutely useless especially for the HDR output :(

I dont think this is a beautiful output @ all

think of a overcast day (no sun light) fog and rain (volumetric atmosphere) in the streets some ambiance light now calculate your position in front of the car and it's metalic surface and thin layer properties the light impact in reality wouldn't be that Dark even for a normal camera not your eyes.

Lot of Detail got lost here and it wouldn't be recoverable anymore neither with your Monitors Luminance @ full power (data is lost).

@Cru_N_Cher so you think vanilla ligthing better? What about eye adaptation problems and overbright washed look at day time, Ubisoft downgraded this game a lot for Nextgen consoles for sure. If we dont mod this game why bothering to play @ our PCs, we can play it on a PS4.

Modding is good especially bringing back all the effects that where disabled (Dynamic Headlight Shadows,Volumetric Light Effects) but lighting needs to be carefully evaluated each time for the different Render States.

The overwashed look in my results comes from the AA properties of SMAA you can always compensate this problem afterwards to your liking in post process, this is the only thing i would use SweetFX for.

The Engine though has also some problems i don't like it's Specular AA problems and also it has problems with Thin Geometry AA which needs you to use heavy Supersampling though it's wrong :(

You shouldn't concentrate to much on the E3 Demos, it's especially problematic as there is only compressed output of those existing, though some saw them in Real Life and could maybe even say yes that's how it looked like.

But more important than these E3 Demo results are coherent Light Results through all TODs for best results you need a Dynamic GI here and that would cost a lot of resources sure that was no option with the Consoles Requirement as we can see a lot other Devs are going this way currently as we saw with Shadowfall or Infamous Second Son 2 of the current most advanced results by Sonys Research Group both are to a big part Pre Baked GI like Watch_Dogs is, same will be for example the case for Destiny or is the case for Wolfenstein New Order.

Tough you also don't have to forget this is a new IP Ubisoft wanted to reach as much as possible users and that with the same look and feel in the end everywhere and they targeted even the WI-U.

Also you lose potential users on lower end System Pre Baked you can keep them investing the Render Time @ your Studio and get this Hybrid approach we see in Watch_Dogs which sometimes results in funny output situations between the dynamic lighting and the Pre baked properties, blending those better together in all aspects should be the goal of a good mod.

Using supersampling on the whole Output is still not a solution for everyone and efficiency wise it's a bad approach :)

Problem is Supersampled result mixing of Screenshots is a pretty bad thing because it blends users about the output results my Results will never be supersampled, personally i always aim for 1080p native Results internally :)

Lunayah goes the best way currently of all Modders imho trying to stay on the Ground even if i don't like his decision to have Supersampling enabled by default in his config ;)

Also you don't have to forget Ubisofts Montreals Artistic Vision of trying to replicate the original Light Properties of Chicago :)

You have 2 possibilities now you create a Chicago Light setup that looks realistic over the Time of Day or you put a filter in front of your lense and make it high contrast Cinematic, that's your decision of taste, in both cases though you should avoid SweetFX post as much as possible and work internally and try to not overdo it with Contrasts and try to keep the High Dynamic Range details @ all costs :)

Just leaving another word of appreciation here.

I have used piratically every mod posted on this forum and only this one offers the right balance of performance and visuals. What the mod does best is to get the 'atmosphere' right with its proper colors and lighting. I am sure experts here will claim otherwise, and I know there are few places for improvements, but damn my game looks fantastic. I just had several multi-hour sessions with v3 E3 Original and my eyes where pretty pleased with the visuals. I am also experiencing VERY minimal stutter which just wasn't possible with other mods no matter what I tried.

Thanks a lot for creating the mod.

Im using your latest one that you created for theworse. I use the strong one:)

have you checked if this worked in vanilla I really havent noticed. check and tell me please :)

    Awesomeness dude..

Well so far what I have done is studied different settings, pictures, reality and have tried to adjust atmosphere to different degrees in order to stay more in touch with what we can call natural and realistic while still using different tones. My warm version is the most realistic one since real lighting from the sun is not white, it is yellowish. it may not be pretiest but im creating a mod with dynamic color rendering at the moment so it changes with weather conditions. The engine is limited and theres only so much we can do. I ll do my best anyway.:)

We should also post more results of how explosions and smoke render out @ different V3 setups :)

i find this result pretty crazy especially if it was only 1 Car ;) it's by william456 hes pretty much the destruction specialist when posting results of mods, wish he would be doing the same here so we could compare results though also in terms of realism and extreme fiction ;)

We could really need some results here of big boom boom in different Render States (Smoke,Fire,Debris) Results ;)

    @XenthorX

TheWorse acts like a kid. Everyone who uses his mod gives him credits and he never answers to PM's and is only 1 hour a day here to say that he will stop working on that mod. I think kadzait24 was right.

    Hello from Italy.
First post on this forum for me! :)

I've been following all the threads about Watch Dogs modding for a while, and I'm very sad about all the recent happenings and the war between al the modders. :(

Anyway... since at the present moment this seems to be the most active mod in terms of developing, and all the comments I read are very positive, I'm taking courage and maybe I'll be trying it soon! :)

But, alas, I have a few questions that I wasn't able to find around (sorry if someone just answered).

    1) Do I lose my saves installing the mod?
    2) If I should be unhappy with the mod, is it possibile to remove it and restore vanilla game? Is that easy?
    3) I know this has been answered, but I didn't understand the answer XD... is it possibile for me to change the DoF setting and have it clear to the horizon like in vanilla? :p

Thank you very much to everybody that is making a better Watch Dogs a real thing! ;)
