I don't know, after the R9's came out the GTX 780s drastically dropped. hoping this forces AMD to sell 290X's for less than $400CAD, just bought a PowerColor 290X OC with an XSPC water block for less than I could have gotten an EVGA 780 SC, that's madness!!!

 

all those mining 290/X need to be resold, and apparently NV pricing remains unphased by it

so while 290/X did force 780 to drop to $500 (as it should have), you cant really expect NVIDIA prices to follow just about every trend connected with AMD pricing
( (un)availability, GPU mining highs and lows)

Europe prices are not "realworldscenario" prices, they are europescenario prices. Secondly what you are saying may apply to your own country in Europe, not necessarily all of europe. UK is in europe, were you speaking about launch prices there as well? See the point? You were basically infering that your own local prices reflect universal pricing and that is when you began to look silly.
