People upgrading in 2014, what phone are you getting?

Just got dared by my Friend, so I jump in the water along with my S5. It's still alive and kicking until today..

 

Thats why I mostly likely buy a S5

I still have a Nexus S. I am having problems with the power button... Although I know how to fix it, I want to change my phone.

I was looking at the Sony Xperia Z2. It appears to be a very good phone... FM Radio, Waterproof and good camera.

I am wondering if I should wait for a Snapdragon 805 based phone or something though. It should be much faster, right?

 

I really don't see why we need phones faster than what we have now? The 801 in my M8 is faster than I need I keep it downclocked most of the time.

 

Good point. I don't really need speed but I want features, since I don't play games on phones. I was simply pointing it out because we know the new phones (future phones) will be faster and bigger battery than the current phones. So in other words, I am wondering if its worth the wait.

 

In the tech world there is always something better around the corner. Just get what you want when you want/need it and move on.

i need some advice
i will sold my old beloved trusty Htc One S wich served me well since 2012,and i need to know how much can i ask for it;my brother kinda wants it and he is not willing to spend a lot.
after that ,what phone will be a worthy succesor to my Htc One S?

 

The rumored to be released HTC M8 Prime looks awesome or the Cyanogen - One plus One has gotten great reviews.

What Screen size are you after?

 

As mentioned before me the OnePlus One looks awesome if you can actually get one. A flagship spec phone that comes with Cyanogenmod installed. It has minor bugs being a customized version of Cyanogenmod but the great thing about CM is that it's updated nightly. At least I assume this one has nightlies, every other version does.

At $300 for a 16GB white model or $350 for a 64GB black model there is nothing remotely close to competing with it at that price point aside from the Nexus 5, which it beats anyway. The Nexus 5 is $350 for 16GB or $400 for 32GB and comes in multiple colours. Neither have micro SD slots.

If you can wait there are going to be Snapdragon 805 based phones later this year (all the flagships now are 800/801 based) but none will be able to compete with the price of the OnePlus One or Nexus 5. Those two are in a league of their own due to their prices.

So my recommendation is if you can't wait and you can get one, then get the OnePlus One, if you can't then get a Nexus 5. If you do wait remember that flagships are $600-$800, not $300-$400, unless you get an overpriced contract to reduce its price to $150-$250.

 

The OnePlus looks amazing.
But it is too big for me.
I am comfortable with a 4'5 screen and bigger doesn't means better for me.
A friend is willing to sell his Iphone 5S for 300 eu,Phone was bought new and unlocked last year.
I asked if he can wait until i will decide,he is in no hurry,will keep it for me ,if i will want it.
Now,for 250,max 300 eu, 4'5 screen, what phones could meet my criteria?

^Nice the Note 3 is not that big actually I compared a friends Note3 to my M8 and the Note is only about 4mm taller and 8mm wider.
