Deleting that just makes the game crash at startup for me.

It's not crashed. Wait a bit and the game loads.

eclap, make sure streaming is enabled and in-game vsync is off, enable it through Nvidia CP or ATI equivalent. Setting streaming to disabled cratered my framerate, might be because I have a 2gb card, not sure.

Does steam take multiple screenshots whenever f12 is pressed in this game for any of you? It is taking a black screen shot and whatever was actually onscreen at the time.

game looks great at 4k resolution.

just had to lower shadow resolution.

    fps goes from 30-60fps.

Ok guys I have a problem and I didnt found in thread anyone with same. I have i7 4770k, GTX770 and 8GB DDR3. My fps is locked at 60fps no matter what settings I choose or enable/disable. Problem is that I have purple/white textures everywhere in closed areas mostly when I'm not fighting..

Temperatures are fine, downloaded even newest Nvidia driver from today, tried turning off triple buffer in Nivida settings but still without fix. Also tried disabling some options but doesnt work.

Thanks but I'll try with good ol' 377.50 first, then we'll see. 337.81 seemed slightly buggy according to the thread on G3D.

Really? It runs really smoothly for me here with maxed out settings at 1920x1200, rarely dipping below 57 fps except when auto-saving a checkpoint. Make sure you set the VT Compress setting to Enabled unless you have a 4 or 6 GB graphics card as it will eat up VRAM otherwise and cause performance hitching. This game runs as well as RAGE does on my system, unsurprisingly considering it uses the same engine.

At 20 30? Man, nothing much to say. Bravo. :wanker: glad didn't buy it at full price. What about gameplay.

U geeks, leave the game engine ; tell me gameplay and story and mechanics. Good?

Check that you don't have the global Triple Buffering enabled in your NVIDIA profiles as I determined that it was the cause of the glitching I saw last night. Once I disabled TB then the glitches went away. This game does not appear to like OpenGL TB being enabled for some reason, which is a first for an id engine game. :3eyes:

not sure if it's enabled or disabled, I'll check now.

fps is between 40-60 in less open areas, more often 40 than 60. Problem seems to be poor gpu usage, it sits between 50-60%.

Yeah that's what caused most of the stuttering I experienced, game actually used all 3 GB of VRAM the 280X had so you need a GPU with 4 GB or higher, interesting.

    r_fullscreenWindowed "1"
r_mode "20" //This value corresponds to your screen resolution.
r_multiSamples "2" //Default is 8 but it does not seem to be traditional MSAA since there's next to no performance impact and it's not clearing up "jaggies" all that well.
    image_pngCompressionLevel "0"
    image_screenshotQuality "100"
    image_lodbias "-0.5"
    image_anisotropy "16"
image_useCompression "1" //Same as setting the in-game compression option to on, that alone should help with VRAM usage.
    image_uncompressedVmtr "0"
    vid_restart
    vt_restart
vt_reload //Because some settings require the virtual texture (VT) and video render (vid) to be restarted and/or reset.

(Added via test.cfg in the base folder and then just using exec test.cfg in the console prompt.)

Pretty much the same. Having 55-60 fps all the time at 1080p/ max settings except shadows at 4096...but sometimes it's like laggin and drops to 50 fps. Using 335.23 WHQL's
