Presumably standby mode is just 2.5W.

So use your phone charger really.

Seems like a fair trade off for me considering I have somewhere around 6 phone USB chargers by now.

I like the stand because it holds my DS4's so they are always in the same place and fully charged. Also I got my stand when they had it on sale for $20.

Need to see a new Gran Turismo release before I'm interested in this.

How good is it as a blu-ray player? How much noise? Does it do 3D?

Can't imagine it failing as a blue ray player, but I'm with you on GT - it rely needs this and GTA and Tekken and a few others before I stump up.

There is no 3d support on the PS4 and it works just fine as a blu-ray player.

which is bullsh*t, and had better be coming at some point (preferably sooner rather than later) in a firmware update.

I'm sure ps4 CAN do 3D, ps3 didn't "support" it out of the box. I think Sony may skip 3D on ps4 though if they want to push their headset VR Morpheus.

I know that much... but would still be nice. I mean.... it's not like 3D is dead... and doesn't seem like it's going anywhere anytime soon. It's just annoying that they release a successor to the PS3, basically with less features than the PS3.

Uuh.... i may be wrong, but i'm pretty sure whether it's a 3DTV or a VR headset, it still technically uses a standard 3D format to display each eye's image.

I dunno about that. 3D was never supported as widely as hoped and just continues to drop off the radar. Again, it seems VR headsets are becoming the new big push for innovation.

edited my previous post, too. lol

The biggest disaster with 3D i feel was movie studios going cheap and doing 3D montages and post-processing 3D. But can't say that it "continues to drop off the radar", when there are still plenty of movies coming out in theaters in 3D of all sorts, as well as BluRay 3D releases.

someone's getting a bit of attitude.

Do a little bit of research. Oculus.... or whatever the hell Sony is developing.... or whatever other VR headset you might come across... they all use stereoscopic images. It's the ONLY way to get a 3D experience from 2D images. Hell, it may have been crappy, but even the VirtualBoy used the same technique.

What the hell is with people anymore? I state the truth, and all of a sudden people flip the f*ck out?

Well... it had better be looking great, seeing as it was SUPPOSED to be released ~6 months ago... and won't be released for nearly another 6 months. One of the games i was really looking forward to getting on PS4's launch. I like the way the game seems to be, because it doesn't focus on trying to outrun the cops (ala Need for Speed: Rivals which is a HORRID game!), or doing crazy stunts (ala Burnout... which i really do like, and hope they do another one soon-ish)... but just focuses on the driving itself... like Test Drive Unlimited/TDU2.
