AMD Catalyst 14.4 WHQL (14.100.0.0 April 17)

So far these Drivers are some of the best in a while, I play IL2 1946, and Cliffs of Dover.

I had this problem when windows 8 came out. i have a HDMI 25.5 inch monitor from samsung and what happen with me was i dont have speakers on my monitor so i disabled all HDMI sound in my playback devices and it fixed it i dont know if it will help you.

 

I use a small VGA connected screen...

It's strange.. because it happens only sometimes, most of the time it does make the screen turn back on.. but then when it does happen... it is the most annoying thing ever.

 

Since I've installed these driver BF4 keeps crashing. Didn't have any problems with drivers prior to installing.

 

Is this with Mantle enabled?

Have you tried deleting the Mantle cache files?

Located in Battlefield 4 folder in My Documents

MantlePipelineCache.db
MantlePipelineCache2.db

Delete those two files.

 

I experience the same with final drivers, at BF4 and Mantel I even get crashes at score table and level loadings. 14.2 BETA 1.3 was better in terms of stability, for GN1 cards, I suppose.

 

Tried that, no difference. It happens with Directx too. Strangely it appears to be only happening on the Naval strike maps.

 

I have a HD 7750 and it used to show up that way in the Device Manager until 13.12. Now it identifies itself as "R7 200 series". Is that normal? The driver itself seems to be running fine.

 

I've had no problem with these drivers and BF4
Either with Mantle or DX11
Not sold on Mantle just yet.

 

I have the same problem as well as occasional stuttering. All of the previous betas have been fine. I rolled back to the 14.4 RC for now.

 

This driver is great for me, alt+tab lag fixed, smooth feeling in games :banana:
Much better than 14.4 RC1

 

These drivers work fine for me now. The problem was with Origin itself. Reinstalling solved my problems with BF4.

Edit* BF4 is still crashing.

 

Confirm, these are the best drivers Iv used since 12.10, the previous drivers I had to use the 12.10 atioglxx.dll in my Il2 1946 Game folder, not any more. Way to go ATI.

i get bsod yesterday, just open MPC lol. I play games for 2~3hs and nothing happened, just open simple movie i get bsod. :/

 

Catalyst 14.4 is by far the best driver yet for DCS World thanks AMD i hope the improvements continue!

edit: there is a thread over in their forums with users confirming one after the other that 14.4 is significantly better

No such issues here with Quick Sync or DXVA.

:nerd: They Re-uploaded the driver again on AMD Site with this Description :
AMD has received feedback that some users are unable to install the Catalyst 14.4 driver on some motherboards with AMD chipsets. We have investigated the issue and have determined that it was caused by the AHCI driver component that was included with the driver package.
We have therefore removed the AHCI driver component from the driver package and will be providing it as a separate download.
If you were affected by this issue, we recommend you download and install this updated version of the driver
this Description was new for me lol .. Just to let u guys know about that...i've no idea if they changed something else.

 

Remember now some of the R9 200 series cards are re-branded 7970's...

I'm guessing the driver is drunk and it should go back home.
