Yep, i will permit me to put one 4W Mullin (passively cooled ) vs 15W Kabini in 3Dmark, vs Intel, vs Tegra4 ( actively cooled )
Obviously I'd rather see it vs a K1, 805, etc -- but so far it looks like AMD is making awesome strides at low power.
I dont think there's any tablet who use it right now ... i was think the last tegra Note 7 use it, but it seems it is still the tegra 4 ? But yeah, it will be interesting to see how it look when the K1 is there. Even if im not sure they are really competing in the same segment... Anyway i ask me if we will see in the next 3 years, Mantle can emerge on thoses low end power SOC.... Many times the question of cross plateform have emerge, mostly for consoles, but.. if possible, this can become a big thing for AMD on SOC and Ultra low power market. ( i dont speak about tomorrow, but why not in the future, )
I'm still not understanding the point of the cortex-A5. Why is an ARM processor required for this? In other words, why couldn't the x86 cores handle these security features? Also, what will actually take advantage of it? I'm also curious if you can access the A5 core for non-security purposes.
The point is the arm processor is completely separate. Better security that way to have a completely locked off system handling it for a very low power cost. Mabye the Arm core is handling some other duties as well like power switching, who knows.
